Changing rear brakes

Anyone changed their rear drum brakes, and are there any special tools needed to accomplish the job?

Re: How much did you pay for your PCX?

My 2015 was two months old and had 261 miles on it when I paid $3,400.00 for it. I bought it from a young woman who might have been 90 lbs soaking wet (I think it was too fast for her timidness!) The $3,400.00 is what the base price before she paid before taxes, dealer charges, and the extras the de...

Drive belt replacement thickness

I know the drive belt is to be replaced at 15,000 miles, but what is the minimum thickness the belt can be before you should replace the belt? I live in a hilly area and I believe my belt is wearing faster than normal. My top speed has fallen from 74mph to 69mph.

Mixing rollers

My memory says I have asked this question before . . . and I did search for quite a while looking for a previous answer! What is the consensus, opinion, and/or experience of mixing roller weights together in an alternating pattern? I have the stock 15g rollers in my NYC variator and drive face. I ca...

Stock rims or after market rims?

Do most of you keep the original stock rims that came with the PCX150? It looks like the stock rims are quite heavy! Are there any performance or handling issues with smaller after-market rims?

Re: Rear View Mirror Visibility

I bought mirror extenders on eBay to solve that problem. Before the extenders, 1/2 of my mirror was my shoulders, and the other 1/2 was the road behind me. With the extenders, 1/4 of the mirror is my shoulders, and 3/4 is what is behind me.

Re: The life expenctancy of PCX, how long does she last?

Well, I think of my PCX 150 as a "he"! I have put 16,000 miles on my 2015 PCX 150 in a year and ten months. That is about 800 miles a month. I change the air filter and oil every 5,000 miles. The secret of longevity is to follow the maintenance chart in your owner's manual! The mighty litt...

Re: How Does the PCX 150 Rate Carrying a Passenger?

I take my teenage kids on the back around time a lot, and my 150 handles fine. I have noticed I travel more at wide open throttle with two people and the engine sounds like it is having a cow! I have not noticed any negative side effects on maintenance, except that I went through a back tire faster ...

Aftermarket seat cushion

Some of you have written in the past that you have added an aftermarket seat cushion to your PCX 150s. After two years of hard riding and 16,000 miles, I do believe that my seat has lost a lot of firmness! Has anyone re-upholstered their seats? Any pictures of aftermarket seat cushions, or where the...

Moving the scooter when the engine is turned off

Odd question . . . any potential damage to the engine if I coast down a hill with the engine off? There are two businesses I stop at that are about 200 feet apart from each other on a gentle hill. I coasted down last week with the engine off traveling at what I guessed was a fast walking speed. I di...

Re: New (soon to be) Owner

Chapel77, Welcome! I don't have a top box either. I keep a folded-in-half backpack, and two small spider cargo nets in my seat for any unplanned cargo. It has worked well for almost two years! (Oh, and white PCXs are the fastest!)

Re: Rear Wheel Replacement

Michelin City Grips are great for the PCX 150. Easiest way to find out if the garage down the street can change a scooter tire is to call them and ask!

I don't know the specs are off the top of my head.

Re: 1000 miles

After 15,000 miles on my PCX 150, I believe my mpg readout is fairly close to accurate. My last fill up two days ago had 103.1 mpg on the readout, and Fuelly.com had it as 100.93 mpg (80% city driving / 20% highway). I have noticed that my speed is usually 1.0 to 1.5 mph slower than what the radar s...

Re: PCX125 gas mileage for larger riders

Jim, my PCX 150 gets between 97mpg and 106 mpg on average depending on how fast I twist the throttle and how much I jump on the freeway! I am 5' 11" and top off around 270lbs.

Re: show your PCX

Mel,

No, none what so ever! The little hog / piglet screamed 65mph going up and over the mountain pass! I had a great time! It was a 125 mile loop and I don't remember having any mpg drop.
