Transmission oil

Post by iyernat »

I am going to attempt the engine and transmission oil cgange on the 2013 PCX150 and I have purchased a qt of the Honda Synthetic oil. The whole quart should be exactly what I need to fill both the engine and transmission needs.

I am foreseeing a small issue - I cannot find a small funnel or a delivery mechanism for the transmission oil. The hole seems very very small. Can anyone please advice as to what I could use for this ? anyone else have successfully changed transmission oil themselves ?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you . I was looking for that device but did not know the words to search by.
I have one other question - what is the washer size for the two nuts that need to be removed. ANd any advice on where to buy these would be of great help too.

BTW - I will fix the profile. I live in Tampa FL and the scooter is an american model.

Just reuse the old washers, they'll be fine.

A crush washer can be used at least twice safely before being replaced. Just flip it over when you replace the drain bolt.

It isn't recommended that this be done every time though.

You can get another crush washer from your Honda dealer or possibly through an auto parts store.

The official part number is 94109-12000

I use cheapcycleparts.com to find part numbers.

Hello

Thx for your reply.

I have seen your oil-change youtube which is what has inspired me to this project myself.

Can you please post a transmission oil change youtube as well if you have one.

Lastly - I bought the scooter used at 2000 miles. The prior owner did do the 600mile service somewhere in Vermont. I have put 1000 miles over a year. I was wondering about the frequency of engine/transmission oil change I should perform.

Thanks for your advice.

Did you not get an owners manual? All the service info is in there. It's 600 miles then every 5000 miles. Although old you can grab a manual from here:
http://www.hondampe.com.au/docs/owning_ ... 5_2011.pdf
Most of the info for service still applies.

Well, according to the owner's manual, the engine oil should be changed at 600 miles (first service which you say was done), then every 5,000 miles after that (see attached pictures). There is no mileage recommendation for the drive oil, it just says to change it every two years
