OMGadosh! That guy actually spent all that time pen coloring his tire(s)? Shame because the outcome was just sloppy fugly! The idea? Let's see what the tire industry holds in the future. They make White Walls and Lettered don't they? So?

Re: BLING For Tires....What?
After the guy in the video spends 5 hours "painting" his tires, he says that it would be easier to "Dip your whole tire in paint and let the outer part wear off (paraphrased)". But i still want to do this. I now need to research Industrial Rubber Paint. Or i can be lazy and wish for WhiteNoise to find a link. WN's links are always the best.

Re: BLING For Tires....What?
I can't stand it when my tires look dirty, and this stuff does that. It is one thing to add a colored band around the tires, but it is another thing when you spray crap on the tires to make them look dirty...which is all that stuff seems to do. i have an idea. Why not just ride through a mud pit? It is cheaper than buying some of that stuff and will have the same affect. ...oops, did I say that out loud? Sorry.

Re: BLING For Tires....What?
I’ve been buying tire dressing for cars for 15 years and in my opinion they’re all the same. They last about a month and then you need to do it over. They come in matte, gloss and some down right oily.
About a year ago this all changed when they came out with tire coatings, not dressings. This is a polymer resin that makes the tire look new, not glossy. Water soluble . And it lasts 6 MONTHS. It works great.

Tyre shine is the best looking finish, as long as you don't ever ride the bike afterwards. I know this for a fact.

Re: BLING For Tires....What?
Anyone can say polymer, and 'dressing' is a word from our grandparents day to say it soaked in and did something, unlike a coating. For all I know mayonnaise could be a polymer if someone made the claim--it certainly is a dressing.Jge64 wrote:(snipped for brevity) tire dressing [is] all the same. Anyway, does this expensive stuff work? 3 Amazon reviewers say yes, and they all sound very basic, nothing with credibility, nothing with depth of understanding or length of product usage. I'm all for a forum member with a tip, and I need some new tire clean & shine, just not sold on this yet. Also, the distributor says to use Tar Zero first, which is not sold on Amazon.
A concern is if a product negatively affects my sidewall and I have a blowout, they declare bankruptcy and I'm bankrupt (from medical bills, potentially). Not saying they have a bad product, it could be awesome, I just want to know before buying.

But I want you to try to convince me! Say something like, "It's so good squirrels try to lick it off my tires!" or "It's so bright bees follow me in swarms!" or "It's so good I've only used it twice!" (admittedly, that's kind of counter-productive at the same time... )

You can laugh at this product all you want, but it might be the next big thing. Remember, you heard it here first.
As for me, I'm waiting for the return of Porta-Walls. Any of you geezers remember them? I want a set of them for my BMW; should be the perfect custom touch.

Portawalls(tm) are now genericised and called "trim rings."
I've saved the TACSystem product information, come Spring when it warms up here I'll be happy to compare it to CQuartz and another product. (It's pretty cold here to do a proper clean and compare.) Thank you for the heads-up @montliz44, and your great sense of humor.

Well, my friend, perhaps you shall allow me to return the favor and help expand your knowledge of detailing.Jge64 wrote:Lol.....cquartz is not used on tires......
CarPros made their name on CQuartz, and eventually decided to attach that name to most of their products, including DLUX. Primarily for plastics (probably due to price), it also happens to work great on tires. (Plastics and tires are both somewhat similar petrochemical products.) Their products aren't cheap, but time is money, so does one balance the other? Hopefully this Spring we'll find out.

Re: BLING For Tires....What?
You wrote “cquartz”.... in the detailing world, that’s their paint protection. D-lux is their diff products. I’ve been using cquartz for about 4 years, Probably done 5 to 7 cars in cquartzUk. It should Be followed by Reload. My vette Used CQUK after I wet sanded, written up on both vette forums and ageek.
Look at the GYEON Product line for other good Si02 products. Carpro essence is a great prep for CQUK. My pcx currently used essence + Reload for protection. Wheels use Carpro Hydro2 for protection. I use Carpro ech20 for Rinseless washing.
Right now, Carpro is one of the favorite on many sites for coatings, but Gyeon is making inroads. But cquartz has Corey, who is extremely helpful if you need help. Corey@carprous.com
