Re: a bad idea
When I said stop looking to the rear I was not referring to when stopped. Of course when stopped you need to check behind you, and if on a motorcycle, stay in gear and ready to release the clutch and turn the throttle to move the bike out of harm's way. I was referring to when in a roundabout and mo...

Re: a bad idea
I think too many riders, and car drivers as well, are trying to look ahead in the roundabout but also checking their rear. If you only focus on what's in front of you, and let the folks behind you worry about you, then it gets simpler. In fact, ignoring what is behind you is the key to handling the ...

Re: questions from a soon-to-be rider
If its not too late, here is my input. The PCX150 is incredibly fun to ride, but it is not an Interstate highway capable vehicle. I find that I can get up to about 64 mph, but a bit slower if there is any incline at all in the road. I feel very comfortable taking it on roads with a 55 mph posted spe...

Re: Wanted to ride, battery almost dead
I'm wondering now if the Battery Tender was defective and that unbeknownst to me the battery just ran down over time. The little green light stayed lit on the Battery Tender, so I assumed the battery was full charged. I have no idea how I would determine if that Battery Tender was not working proper...

Wanted to ride, battery almost dead
My PCX150 is not even a full year old, and I kept it on a Battery Tender all winter. Today I was hoping to get it out for the first ride in a long time, and when I turned the key to on, the lights lit up, but when I hit the start button, nothing and the dash lights went out. I tried hooking it back ...

Re: anybody riding?
I've been riding a fair amount, including about 3 hour ride today, just not on my PCX. Without a windscreen my standard for riding is 70 degrees. Even 60 degree air at 45 mph feels cold is not much fun. Down to 40 degrees I can tolerate and enjoy on my Honda Goldwing with its full fairing. As soon a...

I also wonder why you would want a tach? Its not as if you can manually change the gears. Most of the time when I am riding the scooter I am pinning the throttle anyway.

Re: anybody riding?
I went out yesterday in mid 40's temps, and froze! I have been out several times this year on my motorcycle, but that has a full fairing, heated grips and heated seat. Even with a warm jacket and full face helmet I was freezing. I made the mistake of not wearing winter gloves as well. So I was only ...

Re: Should I Replace Stock Tires Early?
Interesting read so far. I've only owned my PCX since last summer, and only have about 1,500 miles on the stock tires. At this rate I probably will be trading in the scooter for something else before wearing out the tires. It sounds like cost is relatively low when compared with motorcycle tires. I ...

Re: What makes the PCX so special?
I have never before encountered a rider that felt that Honda was "the least reliable" brand. I've had several Hondas over the years that I had owned for years and years and literally had nothing ever to repair. Just oil changes, tires, etc. and other routine maintenance. This is why I have...

Re: What makes the PCX so special?
Maybe its just me but the PCX150 gets great mpg, in my opinion, even when I push it pretty hard. I've only put about 1,500 miles on my 2019 scooter, and for the first few hundred miles I was getting about 100 mpg. But once it was past the 500 mile mark, I felt free to push it harder, often pinning t...

Re: << 2020 vs 2019 Differences >>
I think you will love the PCX150 when you get it, regardless of the color. I have a silver 2019, non-ABS (I would have preferred ABS but did not want to wait for the dealer to find one, and he had a non-ABS model right on the showroom floor). I use it for the same reasons you state you want one, and...

Winter comes early on a PCX
I used to continue to ride my motorcycle each year until the temps dropped below 32. Then for a few years my lower limit was 40, which I still adhere to if the sun is out and there's not too much wind. But as for riding my PCX150, without a fairing or windscreen, I think 60 is about as cold as I wan...

Re: I couldn't do it
I'll know I am REALLY old when I have to trade in my two wheel rides for a four wheel ride. But at 76 I feel confident that I have at least a few years left riding my Goldwing, then a few more after that with just the scooter, and then maybe will switch to something like a Miata for fun.

Re: I couldn't do it
Saying a scooter is better than a motorcycle, or vice versa, is like saying a cold beer is better than sex. Two different things. I love my PCX150 and find it a hoot to ride. But I also love my Honda Goldwing. Riding two up works a lot better on the Wing. The scooter can never give me the rush that ...

Re: Sta-Bil and fuel economy
I use Stabil once a year for both my scooter and my motorcycle. Have done so for decades, and every Spring the bikes start up instantly and run fine, other than a lot of exhaust smoke until the Stabil is burned up (I guess). And maybe its me, but getting the kind of mpg the PCX gets (for me it seems...

Re: Speedometer is spot on
My PCX 150 has a maximum speed of 64 mph. Riding on a long level stretch or road, that was the fastest I could get the scooter to go and maintain. Occasionally the speedometer would register 65 then drop back to 64. Maybe because I am 200 pounds the scooter is not as fast as it might be for a lighte...

Speedometer is spot on
Over the years I have gotten used to Honda motorcycles having a bias in the speedometer, typically reading about 5% faster that actual speed. But my 2019 PCX150 seems to be right on the button. Yesterday I put a ram mount on the handlebars so that I could use my Iphone with the Waze program to get s...

Re: Lessons of the first 1000 miles
I started two wheeling over 35 years ago with a Honda Elite 125. I used it as a stepping stone to riding a "real" motorcycle. While rehabbing from double knee replacement, for a couple of years I rode a Silverwing. But regular motorcycles had always been my thing, up to and including my cu...
