Transmission vent question

Post by Uncle Fester »

Hello, I purchased a 2016 PCX with less then 1000 miles on it. The question I have is on the vent tube on the transmission one of the previous owners removed the transmission breather tube and put a tiny K&N filter at the end. I see the breather tube on the parts schematic and was wondering did it attach to anything?

Also they removed the airbox and installed a K&N filter on the air cleaner connector tube. I will be putting it back to stock.

I had a 2010 Honda SH150 for a number of years so a lot of items look familiar to me.

I'm in the process of changing out all the fluids and checking the valves for the first time. The SH was very easy to do a valve check but this bike is more modern with the LED lights and 28 liter under seat storage so I'm willing to spend the extra time.

Thanks for any information.

If you're referring to the clear approx 3/8" diameter tubes that extend toward the rear, the originals were pinched at the end to allow pressure out but prevent inflow - acting like a PCV valve or kazoo of sort . You could probably get replacements cheap somewhere, just a short clear tube pinched at the end.

No it wasn't that part. That is built into the air cleaner housing. This is a vent coming out of the top of transmission case.

Thank You! I got a used airbox on Ebay so I'll put it back to stock.
