A Bad Idea
Namely, two lane roundabouts. How do I know? Well I don't need the bible to tell me so: I entered a two lane roundabout the other day in the outside lane. As I was rounding the corner, coming from the south with the intention of exiting west, some very foolish motorist on the inside lane suddenly cu...

Re: a cautionary word
Do an oil & filter change, and forget the new oil? Too common mistake at dealers and DIY. I've not done that....but did slide under a Toyota to drain the oil. "Hey, who uses red oil?!" Yeah, drained the trans fluid. Stuff happens. .. Fish I have done this one too. I went one better th...

Re: a cautionary word
Unfortunately sometimes we do end up with a screw or two left over. It happens. Putting the plastics back on is not a deal breaker. You can still ride. However if you are putting the engine back together it becomes a real problem. I try to put nuts, bolts, and screws together in a magnetic bowl tha...

Other possible scenarios of forgetfulness:  1) Hand tighten the oil drain plug . . . the phone rings (or some other interruption). . . you answer the call with the anticipation of going back and tightening down the drain plug with a wrench. You forget because you become focused on replacing t...

No, but if I had used a torque wrench it could very possibly happen. Actually I just used an impact wrench, the badboy method.alx123 wrote:You must've accidentally set your torque wrench to 0 lbs...

Re: I have trouble going over 50mph, rider issue, not mechan
Thanks for the comments everyone, I really appreciate your opinions. I agree it's in my head. I "feel" uncomfortable. I know that I am able to ride at higher speeds, but it feels uncomfortable to me. I am slowly working up to it. I've been riding short distances at 55mph. So far I've only...

Scary eh? It can happen to any of us. There is something to be said for being OCD about things. BTW did you Loctite the nut? Something like Loctite 248 maybe? I'm not sure it is necessary but I've seen on some YouTube videos that others have done it on a variety of scooters. I didn't locktite the n...

a cautionary word
I took my crankcase cover off last week and changed the belt and rollers. The old belt still looked like a champ but when I weighed it against the new belt it came in about 6 grams lighter so maybe (I hope) that makes it worthy of replacement. I can't get over, however, how good the old belt looks a...

Re: Me and my Banshee
Now that you mention it I do remember having that "flying" feeling when I rode mine. It was light, quick, and agile. The fuel economy was constantly over 100 MPG. BTW that movie was best seen with "3D" glasses. Saw it twice . . .. :D Well, yes, it's the tractability of the PCX t...

Re: i'm back!
after about a year and a half, i couldn't stand being without a pcx150 scooter. i sold my 2015 because of the congestion of the roads in albany ny region. i missed it so bad i found a really clean used 2013 pcx150 (red) at a local dealer for a reasonable price with only 2600 miles and bought it. he...

Re: Had a first for me on the PCX today
Today I had a "first" on the PCX. I was taking a nice ride, just for the fun of it, on a country road that I often go on. There are some nice curves, and some long straightaways where you can get your speed up. Its a 55 mph road, and usually, by keeping up 55 to 60 mph I am just staying w...

Yes that is abut as good a price as you will get--Ebay may have one a bit cheaper.Mel46 wrote:Partzilla.com has the oem belt for a little over $32 ($32.22) if you count shipping. I think that is a fair price. I bought one from them in the past and it is still working nicely.

Re: Aramid Power Reinforced Drive Belt Fit For Honda PCX150
There are only four brands worth looking at, Bando, Mitsuboshi, Gates and Dayco. Everything else is shite. Bando and Mitsuboshi are Honda oem, Gates and Dayco are aftermarket. All belts have aramid (or similar) fibres in their construction. OEM is best. You really know how to hurt a guy. Eh? I was ...

Re: Aramid Power Reinforced Drive Belt Fit For Honda PCX150
My experience is limited to one belt change. The OEM belt was around $40, with shipping. Aftermarket belt was $30-35, Seems like a small difference over a few thousand miles ? My local dealer had the belt for $32. Sometimes they surprise you. Well, so far, any surprises I've gotten from my local de...

Has anybody ever tried the belt designated above? I am going to get a new belt for my PCX but I'll be f**ked if I am going to spend my bucks on dealer recommended wares.

Re: PCX 150 top speed?
There are two major advantages I found for trading in my beautiful Suzuki Burgman 400 for a PCX 150. The first was because I speed way more time riding in the neighborhood and on back country roads than on freeways. On the freeway the Burgman 400 was comfortable, easily kept up with traffic, and ha...
