Re: The life expenctancy of PCX, how long does she last?
I loved the pictures, thanks for sharing. I think the PCX will last decades if you take good care of it. Mel mentioned some good preventative maintenance, be proactive about doing that and your PCX will just keep going as long as you want it to. When I did a big bore kit on my first PCX at just und...

Re: The life expenctancy of PCX, how long does she last?
Been to Small town China many times, I enjoy it a LOT more than Modern Cities in China. You feel like you went back in time 50 years and landed in a movie set. Modern Chinese cities too many western style malls, condos for me. Absolutely, Sir. i live in centre of a fairly big mordernised city, I li...

Re: Car oil for my new PCX...
Do they really race scooters in the desert?! Interesting concept but I would think that it would bog down with all of that dirt and sand. Hello, Sir, I am not racing in the desert. I am simply cruising through it. There is a desert highway in western China about 800km long north of Tibet linking so...

Re: The life expenctancy of PCX, how long does she last?
Hi, love your pics ,you have no number plates on your scooters why ?Do you not have to insure them also, on picture 6 what is the brick tower for drying hopps or something. Lafree No number plate because its too old, can't be bothered to give it one. If the police stops me, I would simply chuck the...

It is a travel bag containing some clothes and other miscellaneous. I rode thousands of miles with this bag.Dragon_uk wrote:Lovely pics, wouldn't mind doing those trips myself.

Re: The life expenctancy of PCX, how long does she last?
My third scooter, the current one, is the PCX 2016. I bought this scooter because, despite excessive 4K USD price tag and non-legal status, still a lot of people bought PCX here. I am wondering, how long does PCX last? Can PCX last as long as the legendary 100 scooter I mentioned above? Given PCX is...

My second scooter, the legendary Honda SCR100 by a Honda-China joint venture. This scooter lasts 12 years, still in solid condition. I gave it away to a forum friend when I purchase a PCX2016 last month. This scooter is considered the most dependable bike in China, having a reputation of being "...

I purchased in total three scooters.
My first scooter, a bootleg unbranded scooter.
Very bad quality,
Fire plug casing broken, left me in mid of nowhere. Sigh.
Throttle line broke, left me at 8pm in total gothlic dark mountains. Frightened.

Re: Car oil for my new PCX...
Oil is oil. I disagree with this sentiment. Fair enough, fleshing it out a bit, for a PCX any automotive oil of the correct viscosity will do. But only use the slippery kind, the sticky stuff is no good. Hello, Sir, What do you mean by "slippery or sticky?" is it the viscosity? is 0W-40 s...

Car oil for my new PCX...
After lengthy search, I decide to give my new PCX a try with car engine oil, namely the Mobil 1 gold 0w-40.
The official description: "For extreme conditions"
I reckon this oil should be OK.
Do you gents use car oils?

This perpetual question really bothers me and a lot of other scooter drivers in China. Like me and other scooter lovers, we struggle to find the perfect oil for scooters. I have with me right now a gold 4AT MB which I purchased from the PCX vendor shipped from Thailand, which is the recommended orig...

Hello, Sir, The bruise on my left palm is iron-clad proof that you are not alone. "Only happens when you make an abrupt stop and when turning at the same time " this is similar to what happened to me, except I don't apply abruptly, just gently. I think it is the "turning at the same t...
