Favorite windshield?

I've been trying to figure out what windshield to get for my 2013 PCX 150, unfortunately search says that windshield is too common of a term, but from browsing around I've seen a lot of complaints about various windshields and a few happy campers.

I'm wondering if there's any consensus around which windshield is least likely to cause a lot of buffeting or negatively impact fuel economy? A couple people mentioned that the Honda windshield design might be better because it lets air in at the bottom which prevents the vacuum effect - is that the only windshield designed that way?

I've also seen some people claim fuel economy improvements with certain windshields, is that really a thing?

I know height/speed are influencing factors on ideal windshield height, so I am 5'8" and mostly ride at 45mph or lower but would like to be able to take it up to top speed occasionally without being totally miserable.

Just buy one and see how it goes?

Haha well that's exactly what I'm hoping to avoid if people have good advice. Why futz with installing, uninstalling, trying to return, etc., possibly multiple times, when some folks here might already have some good suggestions?

Best one is the one that it came with.
Honda accessory tall windscreens are all rebrands of a much cheaper make.

I have a Givi tall windshield and am very happy with it. It has some wind protection for the hands built into it. It does have an opening at its base to allow wind flow to equalize the pressure. Some people think that the tall one looks strange, but it keeps the elements off of me. I had a mid height one but the wind still hit my chest enough to cause a buildup of pressure, which to me is as bad as not having one, unless you are riding under 45 mph in a very hot climate. Then you might be grateful for the wind.

However, to each their own, so some riders like windshields and some don't. My 2013 is a joy to ride, but others prefer the newer model. Some prefer to tuck when riding. I prefer just sitting up and enjoying the view.. You just have to decide what you prefer and then go for it. If you find that you dont like it you may be able to sell it to some other member. If not, well eother way you wouldn't know if you didn't try it.

I bought the high GIVI windshield and returned it, it just doesn’t look right to me, much too high. I mounted the lower Givi and then a Puig deflector for air adjustability. Worked great.

In the end, it is a personal choice. Some riders like the tall ones. Some like the mid-range ones. Some riders like the wider ones, and some like the narrower ones.

If you do not want to worry about what it looks like, why not purchase a mid-height one and add an adjustable spoiler?

Ok, so far I am leaning towards the Givi, and I'll add the spoiler if necessary.
When people talk about different sizes, I am not sure which Givi windshields they are referring to because only one size seems to be listed as compatible: http://giviusa.com/my-motorcycle/honda/ ... eld-detail

Tall National Cycle windshield is perfect for me. 16.5", so it says, but sits perfectly in place for my 5'10" frame plus helmet so I can see just over the windshield and still be totally buffeted from wind. Night and day difference from not having it.

Do the national cycle windshields suffer from the vacuum effect?

I consider a real windscreen to be a piece of safety equipment. Because of that, I'd only install one made from polycarbonate (Lexan). That limited my choices to either National Cycle's or Honda's tall screen. My guess is that Honda is probably the only company doing any airflow testing or modeling. I ended up buying a Honda screen from Webike (~$200 shipped) and have been very happy with it in all conditions that you're asking about. I wasn't riding last summer due to an accident, but the summer before I saw my best fuel efficiency of 120 mpg with the Honda tall screen and Shad SH39 top box both installed. (I'm 5'9" and 190 lbs; why does the 1st number keep going down and the 2nd number keep going up?? If I live long enough, I should devolve into a sphere!)

Here's NC's polycarb video

Not at all. There's a gap (about 1/2-3/4 in.) between the lexan and the body.

Wanderr,

This is for you...and the warning that it doesn't fit a 2013 ?? I have one on each of my 2013 models. They fit quite nicely. I also bought the "kits" to extend the mirrors.

Here are pictures for size comparisons on the GIVI windscreens. The mid high is tinted so you should have no problem seeing how high it is on the bike.

Cant get the National Cycle here in PT, shipping costs make it way too expensive, plus apparently the spanish importer has the exclusive for Iberian Peninsula but will not ship to Portugal, wich is stupid beyond belief cause Iberia is not Spain, also not selling to outside to other EU country is illegal under EU and spanish laws. Neither the spanish or NC responded to my requests.

Why do you wear fluorescents and ride with LEDs so everyone can see you better? Then ride with a tinted visor so you can see everyone else worse.
