April release of 2018 PCX 150 in U.S.? Inquiring minds. . .

Post by PCX150Rider »

Found this info and am wondering if it's the real deal or not. Could the new 2018 Honda PCX 150's be released in the U.S. next month? April?

This article claims the maintenance intervals on the valve checks are 4,000 miles now. Not like the 2,500 miles for the older 125 series. One of our posters showed that in his new manual that came with his PCX (bought in the U.K. I think).

Also White and Blue are supposed to be the colors of the day again. . .

Check out this link. http://www.hondaprokevin.com/2018-honda ... es-pcx-150

Still haven't seen anything about a new for 2018 Honda Forza yet though.

Probably late march or early April as you mention. I phoned another dealer and they agree with the early April release date and price the same as the current model - £2600.

Hazard lights and improved CBS brakes um... you can still bust your ass on a Dixie cup

Oh yea I forgot to mention this happened to me last season. Watch out for flattened plastic cups as you come to a stop. With the front brakes pumping no matter which lever you pull, you can lock up on a piece of plastic and then suddenly your front ends acting like you're on black ice o_O

Great find PCX150Rider! Read it. April heh? Guess we'll be hearing more if this article's source is right. Not many changes made, many were hoping for abs. I'm very glad Honda's keeping the color White for 2018. It is beautiful!
Thanks for finding and sharing with us :P

Here's a snippet from that article on the PCX's combined brake system (CBS)

Wet leaves, especially in Autumn, can be a real hazard as well. Sand in the Spring from winter road treatment too. Also anything metal when it rains, sewer covers, road construction site steel plates and railroad tracks at crossings.

I always veer around paper bags because I don't know if they are empty or may have a sharp content. . .can't see what's inside.

Thanks for the tip on the squashed cups. I don't see signs around anymore for litterbug fines. . .used to be everywhere.

Glad to help. . .

I saw that CBS thing. It's different indeed. Wonder if that would have helped with Easy Rider's wobble problem. . .before he got the Forza.

One other thing I'm interested in seeing is what brand and tire type are going to be on the 2018 machines.

Seems not all PCX's are alike if they've had this system installed on PCXs going back to 2012. But then again we don't get the idle stop system either. . .which is fine with me. . .but I guess for some they find it useful.

We all have the "new" 3 pot front calipers with dedicated CBS master cylinder as per that illustration. :geek:
The "previous CBS" system was probably on the SH150i or another Honda motorcycle/scooter entirely?
That's not to say they can't improve upon it for a future release. But that would be a different illustration...

Whatever the 'real' story is with any new release, unless they issue ABS for the 125/150 then not much to be pleased about - the new electronic ignition is ok but not worthy above ABS.

ABS, larger under-seat storage that fits western large sheel helmets, easier valve access (via small removable sub-panels), now those are the kind of things most of us would really want to see.

I don't see anything in this web posting that is actually showing a NEW feature for 2018 , it looks like what they've done is just rehash all the changes from the 13 model, and just said they were on the 18.....I think we know that.

Looks like Honda is just milking this product segment for all it's worth, they must be happy with the volume they're doing , as there has not been any real improvement since 2013.
