High beam indicator, 2013 PCX150

Post by ajcatman »

This one puzzles me, maybe someone can help. I wanted to upgrade the headlight bulbs in my 2013 PCX150. I ordered Prosense bulbs, same wattage on high and low beams as the stock original. After changing them out the high beam indicator comes on and stays on, I lose the low beams and only have high beams no matter what position I place the switch. I thought I may have shorted the wires but the problem went away after I replaced the Prosense bulbs with the originals. I again tried the Prosense bulbs and the problem came back. I'm stumped.
Any ideas?

I have the same bulbs without issue, same year PCX too. I can't say I looked at the plugs much, could it be they are reversed or upside down if that's possible

I returned the bulbs to the eBay seller. He was really good about sending me a new set. I'll try them out when our Louisiana weather dries out a bit, hopefully, it was just a bad bulb. The seller has a 2013 PCX and says he has no issues with the Prosense. I'll post my results after the change.
By the way, the Prosense bulbs were much brighter.

I got the same off ebay, probably the same guy in the U.S. comparing one bulb against the other, prosense vs stock, they're much whiter with just a hint of bluishness, very slight, and yes, much brighter. I'm really happy with mine.

IT does sound like a short in the bulb itself. Hopefully the new one is not also defective.

Update: Looks like it was the first set of replacement bulbs. New set is working fine.

Good. Are they any better than standard?

Glad to hear it worked out. Bummer that you had to go through the hassle to find out it was a faulty bulb.

I've had the same issue. I have a 125 PCX. It could be the way you mounted the bulb in the socket. Instead of plugging it in the socket straight in, it goes in at a right angle. Look on the bulb and there should be a little groove. That mounts to the plug where the tab is. I apologize if my answer doesn't make sense. LOL. I havent slept all night.
