Hi everyone, I'm new here.
I bought my bike brand new from a Honda Dealer. Honda PCX 125
First Service (600 miles), everything fine.
Second service (2500 miles), everything fine but they had to replace the front brake pads(non-sintered).
Third service (5000 miles), rear tyre needs to be replaced(its pretty worn, City Grip on the way), front brake pads needs replacing again!!!(have ordered Sintered), Steering Bearings needs to be replaced.
With the bike being less than a year old, where do i stand with the warranty about the Steering Bearings?
They are quoting a whopping £375, just for bearings replacement.
Whats everyones opinion?

The steering head bearings should be replaced under warranty.
The dealer should know this.
If you don't use the brakes the pads won't wear out.
Every time you use the brakes you throw fuel away.

Will the warranty cover the labour cost to do the job?

I had a coolant check at approx 6500 miles having only the 1st service done - the dealer found nothing wrong (but the empty coolant tank magically became full and no leaks!) and they said my 1st service was due - they had the book and the odometer showed 6500! They also said the steering bearing was needing service at it was stiff one way - I've not found a problem and it's now on 8700. They wanted to charge me £85+vat!

Yes, and if the dealer is any good they should give you a loan bike while yours is in the workshop.alfranko wrote:Will the warranty cover the labour cost to do the job?

If it's a year old and they want to charge you find another dealer. They should be warranty. I wouldn't like to think they would bill you for a job and claim it under warranty as well. Paid twice for the same job.

Find another dealer, just had my 5k service, getting it booked in for a new tire soon. Not needed any brake parts replacing yet.

Personally, most of that stuff is do-it-yourself-able depending on your mechanical proclivities. One thing I never would have attempted in the past with a car is change the tire, but now with a scooter I purchased a manual tire changer and have been saving money for the long run.
