Blazing fast PCX

I was riding home yesterday when I noticed a PCX on the road. I talked to him a bit at a red light, but when the light turned green oh my goodness the PCX just left me in the dust. I had to redline my bike to kinda keep up with him.

I noticed a Leo Vince exhaust on his bike. I tried asking him at another light what he did to this bike but the snob ignored me then.

The guy or me? I couldn't catch up with him til the red lights, he was fast. I just wanted to chat with him to see what mods he had and how fast he could go. :( Maybe he was wondering why a motorcyclist could possibly be talking to him? English wasn't his first language either so I wonder if that was another reason.

Just made me regret not test riding a PCX before deciding on my CBR.

Did he have a 150? If he had an older 125 he could have put the Big Bore Kit in like Dave did. That would turn it into a 170cc. Dave's little pcx flys!

I'm not sure if they ever sold the 125 in Canada. I only ever see 2013s and 2015s on Craigslist.

They do have BBKs for the 150s right? Valiant has one.

Yes, I do. But installation is more complicated on the 2015 model because it uses a different throttle body, throttle cable, and wiring.

But from what I gather, you don't actually have a PCX yourself right?

I wouldn't exactly compare an unmodded CBR to a modded PCX, that's apples and oranges.

Yep, I have a CBR 125R wannabe sport bike with a 0-60 of approximately 18 to 20 seconds. Lol.

I'm just saying this guy was fast, and I was having fun trying not to lose him. I love my bike. I'll add an exhaust, fuel controller, and replace the 15 tooth engine sprocket with a 14 tooth sprocket at some point to maybe get a bit more cruising speed, but I'm enjoying every minute riding it stock.

We'll it couldn't have been me cos I'm in straya.. But on a another note, Pcx can be very quick when bit of money is spent on it.

Usually a 125 CVT scooter will initially be quicker than a geared 125 bike because while the bike rider struggles with the clutch the gearchanges introduce unavoidable peaks and troughs in the power delivery.
During initial acceleration a CVT/centrifugal clutch combo delivers continuous unbroken optimum poke automagically.

My PCX is a rocket (well compared to stock) up to about 50mph. It's a slow acceleration from there. He probably had an aftermarket variator, might not have had anything else. Because of my gearing, even with the big bore kit, someone with a variator tuned the right way could smoke me up to 40 or so.

A performance camshaft might help with that :D .

 After just finishing the big bore kit howto, I'm tempted. I mean, I already have one just sitting in my garage...
