2013/14 Hump Model

Post by Hold Da Kæft »

I've managed to find a honda dealer selling off brand new 63 reg late 2013 early 2014 models, still the one with the awful hump with a top box fitted and complete with the 2 year warranty and roadside assistance.

On the road price is £2370.

Should I be biting their arm off?

Part of me still prefers the new 2014 model but I couldn't afford brand new so it would have to be a used one.

Am I being crazy?

A year ago when the 2014/5 came out for £2700, some dealers were offering me the 2013 model, brand new OTR for £300 off what used to be £2600 (it went up £100 for the '14/'15 model). So that would have been in the region of £2300 without rear box - a year ago.
Not saying this is not a good deal, but it seems they should offer it a bit less being an older model and they cannot seem to sell them.
Someone just posted they were offered $1000 off a brand new 2013 model in the US.

No, the warrantee will start on registration so will be half gone. Seems way too expensive to me.

If a dealer registers the bike when they receive it, then warranty starts at that point. If they didn't register it at the time, then warranty starts from the 1st buyer. I can't remember why so many dealers pre-reg them - must be a reason? That's why, in future, I would hope the dealer would order mine in and not keep the model/colour in stock :)
You say it comes with 2yr's warrenty? If so, then it cannot be pre-reg'd.

I thought that the scoot had been pre reg'd as it is described as a 63, I think dealers pre reg to meet sales targets, leading to discounts from Honda.

Pre-reg is probably a tax dodge.
£2370 for what is effectively a used PCX is far too much, you can get a good used S-wing for that.
