what is Power Peak for a 2014 Metropolitan?

Post by typhon2222 »

Hi folks,

I'm installing a new variator on my 2014 Honda Metropolitan (=Giorno), and thinking of playing with roller weights..... I've got the tach, but have no idea what RPMs I should be aiming for. I.e., what's the power peak is for its tiny air-cooled engine? Is it close to 8,000, as it is for the PCX?

I'd also love to know what idle speed should be, if anyone might know where to find out....

Thanks in advance. :D

I dont know what RPMs to suggest. I had a 2010 Honda Metropolitan and tuned it by ear.
My final set up is Malossi variator and clutch. Stock bell and belt. Malossi variator weights 7.5g.
Result: snappy take off, excellent hill climbing unless it is 45% grade, and top consistant speed 60-63km/h. Downhill, max 70km/h at which the rev limiter kicks in.
Hope this give you a starting point.
Happiness is two wheels and a full tank of gas!
