Just got my Hire Bike from BLD Group,
it's a TGB R125X
Got it, no petrol in it,
got my Brother to get some at the Garage,
filled it up,
tested it on the street and the Speedometer doesn't work,
very unstable, doesn't feel comfortable at all, especially around corners.
Also for some reason the side stand has been taken off,
due to my leg being injured, the side stand would of been easier to use when getting off it for a minute,
but having to put more force into my bad leg to get it on the main stand each time is annoying!
Just emailed them saying to collect it asap,
mentioned all the faults,
apparently they're cleaned and serviced when they get them back from being hired out (doubt that)
they even got a rusted Tax Disc holder with no plastic/glass in it and no Tax Disc, just the rusty remainders.
Useless, said i'd rather try and walk places than ride that TGB.

Re: Hire Bikes
No need to use the centre stand, just lean it against a wall.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Re: Hire Bikes
Parking outside shops, or in my Garden etc, no walls... and I dont think a Car in the next parking slot would appreciate a Scooter being leant against his Car lol
but yeah, illegal not to have a Speedo, so not sure why they sent it out as a Hire Bike if it doesnt work.

Re: Hire Bikes
The TGB R125X doesn't look nearly as cool as the Honda PCX.

Re: Hire Bikes
Makes me appreciate my PCX a lot more!!!!
just the whole ride of the PCX, it's smoother and actually feels safer etc,
that TGB, oh my god! I actually wanted to go slow as it didn't feel safe at all,
still waiting to know about my PCX, whether they're repairing it or it's being written off,
i've got receipts of everything I bought that was on it incase it's written off anyway which they'll give me the money back for,
i'm really liking the 2014 models though, so i'm just hoping if it is written off, they give me a decent amount so I have enough for a 2014 one,
or, if its repaired, i'm hoping they do actually repair it properly,
as it's the same BLD company, and if they cant spot a faulty Speedometer on a Scooter that's supposed to be serviced after every hire.......
then I cant see them doing a good job repairing my Bike :-(

Re: Hire Bikes
The PCS is a great scoot! Hope this gets resolved in your favor. We don't have full coverage on our scoots. We we crash or someone crashes into us. It's on us. If something happens to my scoot, I just might get a motorcycle.

Re: Hire Bikes
Thankfully I had the footage, so the defendants side is paying everything,
to get my Bike repaired / or if it's written off they offer me a sum which I accept or decline and work on from there,
they have to pay for the collections and deliveries of Bikes, also pay for the time BLD has my Bike,
plus pay for the time the Hire Bike is used as well....
but yeah, PCX, best Bike i've had!

Don't mention any receipts for any modifications unless you let them know before the accident

Re: Hire Bikes
They know it had different Grips and Brake Levers on,
and obv new Tyres, not really anything that effects performance etc, they said it's all fine and to let them know the cost of the bits that were damaged and they'll pay that money back.

Fair enough. I've had slightly different experiences to this
