new battery - will Noco NLP5 work?

Post by oliver »

I have a stock 2014 Forza. No mods, no ABS and the battery needs to be swapped out.

I was considering a lithium replacement. I'm in GA and I don't ride when it's below 50f (so no real cold starts) but the scoot does sit between Sept-ish and April-ish and it would be nice not to have to trickle-charge or remove an AGM every winter.

On the other hand, I don't want to spend a fortune on a battery.

I saw the Noco NLP5 and while CCA and volts are good (250CCA/12v) I don't know whether the Ah are enough. It's rated at 2Ah which seems a little low... but I'm no mechanic or electrical engineer.

So... are 2Ah enough? If not, what should I look at for a lithium?

FWIW, the Noco is about $110 with separate charger so it's not a bank breaker. I'd probably go up to $150 if the features could justify it - but I really just want something that works, is reliable and convenient :)

Any advice? Thanks

Just an update... I decided to go with the NLP14 which Noco's battery finder recommended. It's smaller in physical size but it comes with 5 or 6 plastic spacers so the size can match the original without me having to get creative.
