Rubber swingarm bushing squeak

Post by riderdave »

Good evening,

Well, I think that is what it is. 2023 PCX. I got caught in rain a couple times this past week and now I have what sounds like a rubber bushing squeak when you bounce sitting still. It sounds like it is coming from right under my legs.

It's not much and you can't hear it when it is running. But, it's there and annoying. I even pulled the rear shocks and put a little grease on the sides of the bushing. That made no difference.

I really don't think there's anything wrong. It's just annoying. Think there would be any issue spraying a bit of silicone spray lube on them? Pulling the entire swing arm and motor seems a bit excessive to resolve a little rubber squeak. I'll do it though if necessary.

On another note. I'm up to about 2300 miles and still loving the scooter. I've been all over with it, even a few places that were probably at the limit for the 160, and it has done everything I could expect of it.

Spray everything down with some WD40. Spring, bounce it, spray, bounce it. Should be easy to isolate the issue. Then once you find the issue, you can just wash off the WD40 from where its not needed and then use the Silicone spray.
