This is just a simple question. I checked my coolant level but was unable to see clearly, so I removed the (clip) and took the cover off. The coolant level was fine. The clip broke and I could put another one in but a screw may be better because I'd like to be able to remove the cover without replacing clips. Has anyone else come up with a better idea? Maybe a better clip, more durable. I found pieces of a previous clip and feel the dealer might have broke one when preparing the cycle.
Yes they are. I found them on Amazon and thought I'd order some. Thanks for your reply though. I don't know why the one I tried to remove was so brittle though but as you say they are cheap.
Well around here plastic nylon retainers like these are impossoble to find but American style nylon retainers are easier to locate. Since we find it too hard to go metric like the rest of the world 6.4mm or 1/4" retainers is what you will need. I found them at the hardware store. Ordering in quantity on line from Amazon seems like over doing it but I might order some anyway. since they are 95 cents for one at the hardware and $7.99 including postage for 100 on line. This is a trivial subject but I thought I'd post it anyway.
I can't stand the stupid clips. I'd order 100, and assume you're going to eventually break the one on the battery cover as well, and have a couple of spares for when your friends do the same.
