Well, homie  I had used the same sticky idea, with Duct tape. There was no residue and if there were, a wee bit of lighter fluid would've removed it ;) and with no harm done.

(Hmm...Lighter fluid. What's that you say? The liquid we used to refill our Zippo lighters. Remember them? Got a wick? :D Don't singe your eyebrows! Turn the screw! to lower that almighty torch....Sizzle) :o

Back to caps. So the tape removed 3 caps, the 4th was a biatch and it stayed put after many attempts. However, I recalled you saying that only two removed would be sufficient to turn the bars. Okay, cool. Let's do it! 8)

What!!! Now I can't budge them. I used a simple hex key then a strong T-handled hex (thinking more leverage)...nothing. So, my 3 caps are off and I can't get those bleeping hex bolts out! They are frozen solid. Dang! < being nice there)

>> But! me Magazi mirrors are on!! 8) :D

May have to damage the cap and get new ones - Ebay has the silver ones like our for a few $ (bet that's what the dealer does when they can't get them out)

No, no iceman! I my problem is I can't remove the bolts now. Too damn tight! The one deco cap left can stay put, as homie mentioned only "two bolts" need loosening to roll/adjust the bars.

Yes they are tight but no special tool was needed just a cheap Allen wrench (select a size) with its cheesy little housing was enough leverage to bust them loose. Aluminum tends to lock tight itself but have a crisp tool, stay in deep and muscle it.

I used that "select a size" with its' cheesy housing and a T-type. Sadly,I do not have the power to muscle them. My back pulls easily when wrenching hard put hardware.
So now I'm now wondering if I can use "Blaster PB" spray and let it sit to loosen them? I have the stuff, but have yet to use.

Sure try it, great stuff...just blast it off there with a small screw driver and pop on a new one.

Thanks for trying to help. But it's Not the Caps! I'm having a problem removing the frigging bolts under the caps. I want to remove only two of the bolts to rotate the bars.

I have never had my handlebar, column, instrument gauge area wet white noise, perhaps that's why mine came loose. Don't give up, just look at how perky

Impact driver from Amazon, proper socket hex head adapter or breaker bar....your loctite used by honda has really grabbed...you also could stop by any car shop and they have all the stuff to break these loose....

Ohhh....impact driver.
That macho machine comes up once again in forum conversation.
Impact Driver vs. Impact Wrench. So damn confusing. Are ya sure you meant impact "driver" Jge?
I want to agree. Something tells me others won't.
Wait! Let me wait......

Never did get my bar ends off (yep, I could have gone to a mech shop) but winter kind of went away although summer has not really surfaced :) - now I hear the damn 'red loctite man at Honda' may have been over-zealous on the handle bar bolts!

^^^ Correct. Loc-tite "permanent" (I believe).
They are TIGHT! I can see remnants of white substance dried around the bolt heads. Proof they use "stuff!"

Loctite blue= it will loosen but you will work at it
Loctite red= for things you never want to loosen again.
Impact wrench is the big $150 electric or air driven gun that you see them use. An impact driver is a small 6 inch thing that you hit with a hammer, and it sends the shock into a turn and breaks things loose it's only about nine bucks on Amazon. But amazon calls them same.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_ ... act+driver

But seriously, if I had this problem I would hightail it down to the local Midas muffler shop, tell them to pull out their air gun and a hex socket and loosen it for 10 bucks in 10 secs..... The PB blaster might work overnight too.

I can't give up the ship yet, I was very careful Not to "strip the flats." I hate when that happens. This week I shall tackle again with said tool Glen pointed me to.

Yep, perky sir and I be one happier rider. Family/friends call me orangutan arms all my life (Nice folks) :D
Anywho, what a difference! I feel more in control. WN listens so much better now. No more bickering with each other. I turn, she goes! Yeah baby! We're a couple!

(Now I want to find a larger screen that works with my bars fully forward (up). The brake levers were hitting my new Givi medium height screen. I removed the screen and sold it to a Very nice forum member (Brent). Stock screen back in place). This is the downside to Full Forward (up) bars...Must try to find a screen that's shapely and compatible.
But!!! I LOVE ME PERKY.....BARS! :D

Well I forgot you have a fancy wind screen. Hope you can sort it out and still be perky as for the hairy arms you know that gorilla tape will take care of that too  please post a picture when done with the wind screen... no need to see hairy arms
