These Honda PCX filters are somewhat like paper lawnmower filters right?

When I clean my lawnmower filters I bang them on a flat surface if they start looking dirty. A lot of dust and sometimes insect remains come out of them at the end of the season or if I mulch a lot of dry leaves. They do get to a point where they are totally spent but you don't have to buy new ones that often.

After I've put some significant miles on the PCX I may try to extend the filter life by doing that as well. Always bang it with the dirty side down and nothing collects on the clean half that goes to the motor. Call me cheap but for what I would spend on the filter I could go 500 miles further down the road.

I'll have to check the maintenance schedule but I know on some Honda motorcycles the air cleaner replacement is around 12,000 miles. But it's recommended to service them if riding in really wet or dusty conditions. Sometimes even if they look fairly clean there's stuff that gets deep into the folds. :geek:
