Re: where is the best gas for the pcx being sold?
Ok I heard this or read it somewhere. 'Chevron has a Gasoline R&D facility somewhere with hundreds of employees, evidently the Techron formula is being upgraded/updated on a regular basis' or words to that effect.
I'm not usually one to take stock in such claims or take them too seriously but after reading/hearing that I fill up with Chevron whenever possible.
...Oh heck, I looked for it and found this (link below)
maybe others have similar facilities themselves but with 170 phd scientists on the payroll! ..

I fill mine from any gasoline shops. No issues so far.

I don't know about Gainesville, but around here it's more about the station than the brand.
Some stations are not well-maintained and my engine misses and tries to stall if I fill up there.

Fuel from the highest traffic petro station in your city or town. Fresh fuel would be my choice and some of these suppliers are funny to hear. Someone might mention Fina? I haven't seen a Fina in years.
Around here we have;
Shell
Moble
Marathon
BP
Phillips66
Citco

Re: where is the best gas for the pcx being sold?
Since the pcx runs well on regular grade, I just worry about who to get the gas from. We only go to name brand stations, except for Quick Trip, which has good gas and refills it's stations several times a week around here...except the closest one which was doing so well that they are now tearing down the entire station and expanding to add more pumps.
I will NOT go to Circle K. There have been some real problems at those stations, anything from water in the tanks to one of them actually putting diesel in their regular tanks (That station was closed permanently after that problem, with some lawsuits to go with it).
Just stick with the ones you are familiar with and you will be all right.

Costco and Meyers members are non-stop fuel dumps because of the discount. I have a very finicky twin that tells me it likes dedicated Shell stations but I may try the big box store fuel to see if I notice any difference. Certainly fresh but might be crappo blend.

Re: where is the best gas for the pcx being sold?
Gasoline is all pretty much the same despite the claims of this and that. Raw gas is shipped to the storage tanks via tanker ship , or pipelines. When the individual companies come to get the raw gas they add their own detergent package etc. Most is mandated by law for winter blends, summer blends, and detergents. Ethanol (10%) is commonly found at most American gasoline stations , but if used and not stored it will be fine. Storing any engine with an ethanol blend for any length of time can be disastrous and even any gas will varnish up if stored long enough . Most important thing to consider is to buy from a new refueling station where the gas tanks underground have not yet been compromised with water intrusion and contaminates. The older stations have old tanks and I would stay away from them. Anything built in the last ten years should be a perfect choice for you. Best price and cleanest station is what to look for over any specific brand name in my opinion. Marketing hype is what you generally are paying for but for the most part gas is gas if not contaminated.

Exactly but it'll fall on deaf ears. It's a scooter, put petrol in it.

I get mine from the local Red Dog servo in Kallangur, Queensland, you should definitely get fuel from there, it smells nice.
Airfares may be a bit of a negative
Seriously the PCX runs fine on any standard fuel. I run premium in my VW Golf because that's what it needs to run best. Pretty sure it would be a total waste running that in the scoot.
