So much for disc locks.

I guess the only way is take your bike to bed with you.

As a victim of bike theft, like I always say, if they want it they will get it. Good insurance is your friend.
2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]
2013 Silver Wing ABS (Black)
1971 BMW R75/5 (White)
Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

All that screaming security and power tools for 10 minutes in the night. No one has a shotgun to put a round in the air to save that bike. Kinda nonsense wouldn't happen in my neighborhood, but of course 30-40 shootings every weekend. But at least the Ducati would be there in the morning

These guys jumped the ignition wires. What would have happened if the engine wouldn't even turn over after the jump? They would have figured, I imagine, that their jump had been done incorrectly. They would have rewired the jump. What if bike still wouldn't start? My guess is that at that point they would give up the game and run.

This much to be desired situation can be yours if you install a battery cut off on your bike:

You might even, on top of this or as an alternative, install a hidden kill switch:

Ths guy is installing a kill switch for his dirt bike, so he puts the switch button on his handlebars. Those of us who are interested in making it hard on thieves, would put the button someplace else, someplace "Where the sun don't shine".

Disc locks on both front and back disc brakes, kill switch hidden from view, a chain and lock so thick they couldn't cut it in a short amount of time, and a Scorpio security system. Maybe, just maybe they will decide that it is too well protected to waste their time on.

A pitbull or 2 would have helped the owner. I never leave my bike out. Its only to get fast food or a drink from the quick mart. Its sad but reality unless I move to Singapore.

Not too much trouble with bike theft where I live. I've accidentally left my keys in the PCX overnight, and it was still there in the morning.

All those sparks, wow! The plastics on a PCX would melt.

And that seemed like a really, really noisy way to steal something.

Unless you have to deal with a thief of Napoleonic demeanor with the patience of Job to boot, I'd say you have the formula to go with.
