please stop posting snuff video's... start this at 2:00 and maybe its tolerable. btw long since decided group rides have dynamics and human natures that DO NOT add anything to safety.

If you must start at 2 mins then start at two. There is a lot of good info here, it is not blood and guts at all. It is unfortunate that the gentleman led off with that photo--I know we have riders here who would rather be (blissfully) ignorant of what a motorcycle accident can look like and I regret I couldn't cut that first 2 mins out so they could watch without undue trauma.

The very intelligent and observing guy narrating this video really makes some good points: "Cars mean death to me. I don't like to be around them." "Smooth is safe." " Scan ahead and plan ahead. Don't get caught by surprise." "Expect mistakes, but make them cheap by wearing full gear." " I have no respect for guys who don't wear gear." " As you ride, critique yourself." "Ride frequently. Ride frequently and you will become a safe rider." "Always be aware of how much traction you have." "Relaxation is huge." "When you have to be in heavy traffic, handle your vehicle as though you were driving a car, i.e. stay within the speed limit and don't weave."

There are a few things that concern me the most when riding and he didn't address them at all. Because no one can. I worry that a car will suddenly turn while I am going straight, or pull out from a stop . I also have a concern that the person behind will not stop when coming to a red light, or make a quick lane change into me. However, he did address expectations and that is key.. if you drive a cycle in speed excess like 100 mph expect an obituary.
Taking a PCX up and over 65 mph will also get you the same print sooner or later. I read about folks taking these up to 75 -80 mph and beyond . Its not your riding skill, its the unknowns like a branch or sink hole, or deer laying in wait. All good info..

I've seen many of his gun review videos over the years - didn't know he did bike vids too. He can be a little long winded but generally gives very good advice.

Perhaps there should be more of the 'no holds barred showing all the grissly details' video's on main stream TV and web sites - perhaps then the Squids and idiots (at least some of them) will be shocked and concerned enough to wear better protection and ride safer. Many will carry on or fall back into the 'I'll be ok attitude' but if it helps prevent even a small percentage of accidents (no such thing most of the time, just idiots) and casualties then good - more or the shock and awe 'real life accident footage' needed.

Wish I had a video camera on my rides - every day I could upload vid's of complete idiots almost every mile I ride - tail-gating is the main issue, speeding, pulling out, not indicating (almost the exception in outer London for people to indicate at junctions/round-abouts!). Had some 20 something idiot in t-shirt and shorts on the opposite side of the road in traffic suddenly start to do rear wheel up-ended wheelies - no idea who he was trying to impress but I could care less if he had an accident - fully deserved in my view (just sorry for anyone else affected by these idiots and the crashes they cause).

Yes, accident videos should be mandatory watching for kids as soon as they reach scooter age.

Well, when he gets back to riding, he will be a sadder but wiser operator.
