For the sordid tale in written form, I wrote a little blurb on my blog. I also did a step by step video, primarily of the variator installation since I had to take the clutch to a shop since I didn't have the right tools on hand. in this case, the shop was cheaper than the tools.

The video is a bit longer than I'd like, but it is a How-to, and could be added to the How-to section I suppose. It also includes footage of a highway run with the new variator.

Hey Paul, that clutch is a total pain. I managed to disassemble and reassemble mine without G-clamps or spring pliers, but I won't be doing it again without the right tools next time...

Precisely why a clutch spring compressor is on my list of needed tools, and why I just took it to the Homda shop.
