Axle racks - stands - any suggestions?

Post by iceman »

Hi. I know some people have the larger flat-bed type trolleys that lift the PCX up for maintenance, but I often see motorcylces supported on axle stands. Do these work on the PCX? From photo's it looks like there is more popping out from the bike for the stands to work on, but I am not sure if such things are suitable for the little 'ol PCX. Thanks!

iceman I would play but, I'm not sure what an axle rack is? Share a link or picture perhaps?

If you mean a paddock stand they don't fit a scooter. To get the front wheel off the ground I use my trolley jack and a flat foot square piece of wood under the centre. I don't jack it right up, it just takes the weight off the front.

Thanks all - yep, I was thinking some kind of paddock stand but alas they are no good, so some kind of trolley jack looks to be the only solution. I remember someone posted a video link showing they lifted the bike a few feet up and could wheel it around - I was concerned the underside of the bike was perhaps not made to support it's own weight?

Front stands (steering stem stands) are working on scooters also. I usually do all the maintenance on the centre stand, but the chassis is very sturdy beneath the bike also (three massive tubes running below the tank) so a it can be supported there too.
