Are there any differences other than year designation ?

Top speed is higher on older models but due to a minor drive chain redesign 15-16's are slower. The seat has less hump on 15'-16's but still has a hump. The body panels are not interchangeable at all between 13 and 15. LED lights all the way around where added on 2015 PCX and the engine was made more efficient by lessening the drag on the engine by changing mechanical and structural angles internally which I don't completely understand.

So yes it was a fairly significant redesign on 2015 PCX from earlier production

The gas tank also increased in size by about half a gallon on the 2015's. My big reason for upgrading.

Yes the newly redesigned 2015 PCX was the happiest time :D It was my first introduction to a scooter and hasn't disappointed me yet.

I like the styling change on the 2015 but the fact that there are a lot of spare and upgrade parts for the older model keep me happy with my 2 2013 models. After our accident the cost of replacement parts was extremely inexpensive. There are some nice things on the 2015 model that I wish could be retrofitted like the larger gas tank and led lights, but otherwise i have modified ours enough to keep us happy for quite some time.

What mods would you suggest. I have a 2013 and was looking to mod it up a bit. I ordered another seat so far and installed a tall windshield. Appreciate all these comments.

I would modify my information to reflect my location so folks can see where you hail from. And if you can get them in your country, Michelle tires to be sure you have a good grip on the road.

Yes, Michelin City Grips for sure. Also, more lights, and change the rollers. I have 13 gm NCY rollers. I am about to put the NCY rollers, variation and drive face on my wife's bike also. I have a GIVI tailbox on both bikes as well, and the tall GIVI windshield for long rides. I have a spare mid height GIVI in case I am just running around town as well, though I seldom use it. The tall one works quite well in all situations. I put a 12 volt auxiliary port on my bike, but on my wife's bike I just added the the Battery Tender converter piece on to the Battery Tender pigtail leads we both have on our batteries. Definitely get a Battery Tender.

Hey Mel, a battery tender is the best for sure but I never understood why you guys hard wire the PCX with the lead. When I bought mine and with the 2015 PCX the battery door drops so easily the gator clips that come with the BT seemed simple enough. I leave the access panel down, close the seat on the wire and forget about it. Then you can use the more permanent lead for bikes with harder access to the battery. Perhaps the 2013-14's have a more difficult battery access?

I have actually jump started my bike from those Battery Tender leads. If you ride with someone else who has those leads and you have the gator clips as well, connect one set of gator clips to the external leads on each. Then clip the gator clips together and the bike should start from the other bike. :-)

homie, why use Big gator clips thus leaving your door open? Think Dirt Bro! Weez hate Dirt! ;)

My door is closed. I (hardwired?) placed the included battery tender rings on the terminals. The lead wire then sneaks out the door, it closes and then escapes through the front end of my seat. The seat closes fine too.

That battery tender thingy....It's so dang great & easy to use. A must. Bless Deltran!!

For those who want to try the jump start route that I did, get an empty toilet tissue or small paper towel roll to store the clips in. Then, when they are needed, keep the ground leads connected within the cardboard roll so that the hot and ground leads will not accidentally touch. My whole setup fits inside the little box the battery tender came in, and stays stored under my seat.

Chief keeps a couple rolls of toilet paper under the seat anyway so he is half way there.

I just connected a female socket to the battery and use male cigarette plug ins . You can attach a male plug to the battery tender or jump start from another car/bike using a male to male cig plug.

I don't get why you even need a battery tender. Are you not using your scooter for long periods of time and the battery is getting drained? Is there something wrong with your charging system?

I use one on my battery during the winter when I remove it and store it (the battery) in the house. But during driving season?

^ Hi northern neighbor! :P You asked why? Hmm, could be for reasons you never thought of. Everyone's lives are different. Some of us can't or don't ride as often as you. Some ride more than you.
Anywho,
Some of the main reasons I've been using a battery tender for years....

1) Be-cause of our winters (you're familiar with that one ;)
2) I was a snowbird not so long ago. I'd go back and forth to Florida staying months at a time here or there
3) I had an injury to my back that layed me and my bike up for months
4) I have family emergencies where I'm not around my bike to ride it
And.....
5) I like my battery topped off at all times, it keeps it healthy and it lives longer. The pigtail off the battery is a delight to have. I can hook-up other things to it as well. Example: I top off my tires anywhere using my small slime air pump (if anyone wants to see a pic of that, let me know ;)

Well, "I guess I said enough".... I always do. I'm all Charged Up! (Little humor, very little :ugeek: )
