Flashlights

Post by WhiteNoise »

....Not the one you're thinking  silly

These http://www.comagination.com

Anyone ever try this easy flash modulator on their PCX? Well, on a 2010 - 2013, that is.
I just saw a scrap piece of paper lying about with Visipath written on it so I googled it. Seems like a quick way of getting attention, but would That really be a good thing?
Up to ya'll ;)

I would love to modulate my front headlight as I've been hit on a bike before at a stop. But i have a 15 with LEDS, So I run a plate strobe in the back and additional strip LEDs as running lights in the front. You could use this kit to mount two conventional small lights tucked into the fork/fender pocket. Lights that are pulsing are far more visible in any condition.

Not allowed to have flashing lights on your vehicle in the UK - only emergency services. And to be fair, I don't much like them. Nothing wrong with the front lights on the '15 PCX - they are very visible.

Understood iceman ;) I too have the '15 model and in the U.S. New York State allows flashing lights (I won't go into details, those interested can google their own State Laws).

Here our roads are filled with more and more large vehicles every year making motorbikes appear even smaller then before o_O
As an example: Our 71 mile main drag is the Long Island Expressway, aka I-495 (that I've been calling "The Distressway" all my life) was built in 1958 and extends from the Queens-Midtown Tunnel portal in Manhattan to Riverhead, Suffolk County(aka CR 58).

Here's a pic riding into Manhattan via the L.I.E. (better to take the train? That's way costly!)

Bikers Desperately Need Visibility (imho) especially if they're brave enough or have to ride THAT Distressway. Bring on the Hi-Viz, and light up with lights, wave a flag doggonit! What else can we do?

Can you see me? Damnit!

More Good info Glen, thank ya!! 8)
Btw it's cold up north today, enjoy your southern temps! Best times to ride are ahead of you now. Yummy!!

WN - if that was BKK, there would be 2 more lanes of traffic formed, yes, even though there are only markings for 3 lanes. If fact there would be an police officer on a stand under the 678 sign motioning vehicles to drive on the shoulder.  It makes sense to use all of the road service possible, but it certainly doesn't work for emergency vehicles. When in Rome, live like the Romans. ;)

2yous, I believe you're referring to the saucer like strutures?
There's quite a bit of interesting info right here about them and...the famous people that used them for the benefit of entertaining us (the public).
To destroy or not to destroy them?...that IS the question
(I vote NO!)

That is unique, beautiful in a Thunderbirds kind of way . Restore it I say.

Can't believe you made me read the daily mail. Is that some relation to our turged, racist hate tabloid for the over 50s?

Don't get me started about men in black... :D

By the by, did you notice the very big Earth's sphere in the photo's? My brother-in-laws Grandfather built that for the 1964 Worlds Fair. Cool heh? Want more stuff? I went to that world's fair and my cousin worked at the Bell System Pavilion Exhibit. Boy oh boy, that was along time ago (sigh).

My only concern says it fits between the bulb and the existing connection so by default must move the bulb forward slightly which messes up the bulb placement in the reflector and thus changes the beam pattern. The better? ones splice into the harness. Maybe if someone can find a picture of some fitting instructions it would alleviate my concern.

If you don't ride at night it doesn't matter as much.
