Security Beep

Post by gmlawrence »

I have just hit 1,000km on my new PCX 125. Just today, when I went to turn on the security, I noticed that the bike didn't go "beep" as it normally would. It also doesn't go beep when I turn off the security or push the "answer back" button.

I tested to make sure the security alarm speaker was still working by setting off the alarm. I set the alarm on and then gave the bike a shake. The alarm went off as it was supposed to.

Why is my bike not beeping when I push the on/off/answer back buttons? Is there a secret key pattern that I accidently hit?

Who knows? Has it caused any practical problems?

Just hoping that some PCX experts know of the solution. It is easier to hear the bike go into security mode then have to watch it.
Thank you!

No idea, but why not contact the local Honda dealer if it's a factory fit Alarm. They should be able to help. Do you not have an owners manual to refer to?

I solved the silent beep issue.
If one holds down the "Answer back" button for 3 seconds, which will toggle on and off the beep.

I couldn't look this up in my owner’s manual because it is a bike made for the Thailand market, but it is sold in Bermuda.

Ah, good to know. Thanks for updating your thread with your solution.

We don't get a lot of PCXes with alarms on here, so any info on that is useful. :)
