Flickering Headlights after replacing battery on PCX 125

Hello all, I am new to the forum. I have a 2011 PCX 125 with 3350 miles on the odometer. I've put about 2300 miles on the scooter in the past 14 months. Recently, the battery got very weak and couldn't start the engine, so I took the battery to my local Honda dealer. They said it would only hold 50% charge and needed replacing. The OEM battery from Honda was $123 USD, but the dealer offered me another brand of battery with comparable specifications for $53 USD. I installed the new battery and the scooter cranks and runs fine. Now, I notice that the headlights and taillights are dim at an idle and flicker when you rev the engine and accelerate from a stop. I am wondering if something is wrong the starter/generator or if the issue has to do with the new battery not quite being up to par with the OEM battery installed by Honda. Has anyone else had this issue?

hay hughbroome2, there are several possibilities.
.
I would be very suspect of the new battery that was put in.
Did the dealer show you the battery before installing and was it new.
Did it have the same amp hour rating as the Honda battery ?
.
It is also possible that the battery has a low amp hour rating
or
that you have a loose connection at the battery.
.
I think you need to go back to dealer and say something as that is not right.

Highly unlikely that it is your starter/generator as battery would not be charging and you would have no start.
