A Garage for Limited Space

Post by kramnala58 »

I saw this YouTube video and thought it was interesting. Might be useful for someone without a garage but have security issues where you park.

Interesting. I'm curious--is the "garage" still moveable after it's closed/locked, or to those telescoping panels lock in place?

I love both of those! How much do they cost, and how hard are they to put together? Imagine sending off for one of those in kit form. Shipping might be a bit high, but they are great little bike storage ideas.

8) Agree with Mel, I like both ideas however, the unit attached to the house I think is truly genius!
Sweet how everything is all in one place behind closed doors. Let me re-think that, Oh No, that would mean that everything would get stolen in one sweep, right? :o I would hope not.

I imagine both units would need Super Locks and Hardware to fasten the unit to the ground and home itself, along with a Loud Alarm wired to a local Sheriffs office so that they could respond. (You know like ADT and Frontpoint, etc) Overboard security? Guess it depends on where you live. A Sherman Tank outside it's door would work quite nicely here  Craigslist Item? Ebay?

I do appreciate that folks have put their time, effort and money into creating these (& other) motor bike homes (old word used: storage). It really does prove that change has come, bikes are rolling, we are riding, and that we do need space and that space includes housing, garaging and parking.
So cheers to all inventor's! I tip me rum n coke to thee :P (do not spill!)

Best thing I've seen. Some problems over here with the constant rain and damp and the clothing but not a bad effort

Not sure about this one. Looks too vulnerable to wind damage.

One strong gust could cause thousands of pounds worth of improvements to the Hardley

Speaking of which, if someone shipped a Harley over to England, would they be able to work on it over there without having to buy special HD tools.....such as an Allen wrench made specially for Harleys... $200...or a special lift, right hand side only :-)) ??

There are (too) many Harley dealers already in the UK.

BikeBox costs 2.990,00 € (£2300) and the XL version costs 3.985,00 € (£3000) (I was interested until I saw the price!)

I would like to have the stand alone unit to put my bicycles in. Little pricey though.

True. Yuk. Bit of sick in my mouth....

I could go for a repatriation program. You or the Chinese made them, you should have them.

Blech
