Just so I can start my search, can anyone confirm the engine codes please?
I'm going to have to use the log book (UK) to confirm the one I want to go and look at (2012), but without knowing what the esp and non esp engine codes are I wont be able to confirm if its the right one or whether its the newer engine that wont fit.
My engine code starts JF28E and its a non esp engine (2010 model). So I'm presuming if the engine code on the one i want to look at is the same, its ok.

Re: ESP and non ESP engine codes
Easy way to tell them apart is the airbox.
The eSP one has eSP written on it and is a different shape.
The original non eSP PCX is a "ww 125 ex2-a" anything else is an eSP

Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Re: ESP and non ESP engine codes
I agree with gn 2 my pcx is a non esp first registered August 2012, model WW 125EX2A, VIN code MLHJF28A. Hope this helps, by the way it maybe worth doing a few checks before you do an engine exchange or at least take it to a dealer for a second opinion. If it was mine I would do some more investigations. In poorer times when my honda pc50 blew up I stripped and rebuilt the engine I had no choice.
