Special Holiday Gifts....

Post by homie »

It's about time to get serious with gift shopping and for some of us its a difficult time for many reasons but for me its looking for that one thing for the wife that she didn't see coming. If it pleases you for a moment please post a suggestion or two... here is my wife's lifestyle and likes.

Business woman, financial manager, insurance broker, serious, intense, capable
hobbies... none, makes it tough
leisure... coloring, yes something to do with stress relief. I know weird right, the woman uses crayons and coloring books.

Oh sure there is the usual odds and ends, but I like to find something unique like restoring childhood memories. Things like her rocking horse of kinder garden years or other memories found in old photo's. I have often heard her recall items she never received from Santa as a kid and this year I thought to venture into this area again.

My question is; what did your spouse always wish for that never seem to come for Christmas?

My wife says a day at a spa. (if she is ok with massages and such) It would be a few hundred dollars around here and depends on what is selected. They have gift certificates.

What have you bought her previously and what has she liked/disliked?

Her Mom says they never bought her the Barbie Dream house and she was traumatized every Christmas, probably why she married beneath herself  Wow! I can see why... they aren't exactly cheap o_O I think I will order one and then what, buy the doll set and some furniture? She would be surprised :D like last year when she pulled a G26 out of her stocking and then told her dad "come over here I want to shoot you in the butt"   That was FUN as hell!

Sweet of you homie.
I too like to buy meaningful personalized gifts. Has your wife colored in poster or mural size yet? Something like one of these? http://www.stuff2color.com/line-art/the ... -put-that/
OR...Could you spare a wall in your house for her to dabble on? You could stencil a landscape or something close to her heart up on the wall that she could leisurely paint or color? Just an idea that certainly needs more thought. Let me think on this more

Short Story: When I visited my brother's ex-wife (back in the day), you had to draw, paint, ink a sketch of something on her wall the very moment you entered her home. It was Right There! She was an artist after all. My Immediate reaction was, She's crazy! She handed me a brush and told me where to paint...whatever I wanted. Afterwards I looked at all the different sketches thoughts and ideas that her visitor's had come up with. Wow! Very impressive. Definitely Different! Risky? Nah, the fix was easy, she'd just slap paint over the wall again for that standard blank canvas look. Would I want this at my entrance? Probably not. Who knows. Her place was small. Now that I mentioned this, There Was some "funny stuff" growing nearby. Guess that helped her guests with their creativity

Shame, I never took a photo of that wall!
Appreciate your cellphone cameras folks!

Other ideas: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to- ... ring-Book/

Find a photo of a place that means a lot to her. Use a projector to blow it up on mural size paper or even a wall. Run with it from there homie :)
