New Mirrors

Post by Taz »

Ive now got some replacement mirrors from the2wheels at eBay Hong Kong at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290589022915 ... 1497.l2649

They were smaller than I thought so see these photos. The mirrors do present a smaller view of the world and I have less arms in them so will see if I get used to them. I had to install them backwards to get full lock on my ermax windscreen so just enough clearance for the headlight and idle off switches! Maybe will get more top speed with the lower drag :)

I think they're ugly as sin. Different strokes I guess!

Thanks. I think the stock ones are plain :) But I really got these to get better clearance of my windscreen, and I have tilted my handlbars forward again to get better clearance for my long arms.

By the way why do Honda have to tighten up bolts on handlebar so tight. It was a bugger twisting the brake assemblies around and I was only able to move one side. I ruined two allen keys on the other side. Will ask the dealer to do it when I go in for my first service.

They look fine and look like they work well. I do agree that the stock mirrors are rubbish. I want body-integrated mirrors, that'd be awesome.

I may still get mirror extenders as can only put on my steering lock by moving the left mirror a bit each time. But thats only because I twisted my handlebars as far fwd as possible as my arms are too long. I had to return to my dealer yesterday to get them to loosen one of the handlebar hex bolts as it was so tight. They used a proper hex driver instead of those soft metal L shaped ones so I will buy a set, around $50. By the way, the tool kit with the PCX is pathetic. May take mine out as its using up luggage space!

I took my toolkit out, just dumped it in my "random tools" drawer. It's all rubbish...

I have my own toolkit I take with me on long rides that is actually worth something. I can't imagine fixing anything with the Honda kit.

I bought a mirror extender kit with my tall Givi windshield. I think it was $10, direct from Givi.

Ive gone and ordered mirror extenders off eBay now. Guess you need them for any tall windscreen if you want to use the stearing lock. I also bought a new set of hex drivers, hopefully stronger metal and they are longer shaped L so hopefully more torque!
