new to most things

Post by hugo »

New user/rider. The pcx is my first official bike (picked it up at a charity auction). Ive already made some adjustments by adding a touring screen and what's supposed to be a bike tank bag.

Hopefully the picture I added will be visible. Also have no idea how to add an avatar :?

No, the picture may be too big for this sites restrictions. If you use Image shack or Tiny Pic you can make it smaller and post it from there. Same with an avatar, make the picture 120 x 120 and you should be fine.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your PCX

Download pixresizer. Free, very easy to use tool to (obviously) resize pictures. Most forums don't want HUGE picture files, and this will take them down just fine. It will also allow you to make a pic into an avatar. Not sure of the quality going down to 120 x 120, but it will do OK. If not, try GIMP (also free, but hugely more complicated).

Oh yeah - welcome to this forum. I'm quite the newbie as well, but have found great info on our scoots and nice folks without a lot of pontificating.

Happy riding!
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

Hah, that works!

I love the silver, it's my favorite color. I wish we got them over here in the colonies.

interesting windscreen, hugo. it looks like you left the original small windscreen on and then somehow added a larger one on top of the original?? or, is it just a new larger one that is two tone, bottom smoked and upper clear?? I had a motorcycle sissy bar bag that I now use as a tank bag. I wrapped the straps around the front signal lights, keeping them close to the bike. I made sure that the signals themselves are free and clear and other drivers can see them. plus, I also made sure there was not too much pressure on the on the signals themselves, just tight but not overly. I did this after maneuvering and adjusting the straps and now I truly have a tank bag. heavy items ride on the scooter better under the seat and on the tank as that is where all the weight should be for a better ride.

That works! Do your legs still fit on? Where are the straps going? That bag looks spacious.

the bag does not interfere with my legs at all. there is some side to side movement and if I had a Maddie or Boo Girl settled in there, I would have a tank bag like you do. my bag is good for extra items like rain gear and I did not pay very much for it. your bag carries precious cargo and worth every penny you paid. another pic below so you can see the straps around the front signal lights.
