Rear brake issue?

Hi all.

Just been for my mot and failed on the rear brake not stopping the wheel at all.
There is no tension when i pull the rear lever.
Will it simply be new rear shoes needed ?
What could it be as the rear is a drum and mines the 2016 pcx model.

Is the adjustment back at the rear wheel so loose that it doesn’t expand the shoes ?
