3 days ago I came through here and a small herd of deer was back again. (I'd photographed them weeks ago)
Sadly my Lumix camera was 'winchester' ('out of ammo' = memory card was full!)(thanks, daughter!)
Today, nothing.
Still, it was a nice quiet spot to take a break ~~ waiting for 6:45 AM to get coffee.
New parking garage town/center...
And the park across from it....

Re: No Joy with the deer....
With me being on furlough and the wife working from home, we've been around the house a lot more than usual.
One morning a few weeks ago I was awoken by my wife shouting come and see this... there were deer on the embankment at the rear of our home.
Since then we've seen them most days.
Chances are they've always been there, we just never noticed.

Re: No Joy with the deer....
Since the shut down, I've seen deer romping around early mornings in many places where I've not seen them before.
Unless I've clear roadsides, I ride with that in mind....at @25mph. Open roads - I'm loping along no more than 35 or so.
It's why I ride when and where I do.
For 30+ yrs my alarm has been set for 5:30Amen.
When I'm fishing, I have the same agreement with deer and fish. Don't bothet - I'll not bother you.

Re: No Joy with the deer....
Saw a deer last night on my usual Sunset ride . . ..
With diminishing daylight it's easier to look for "movement" in areas where there shouldn't be than to actually be looking for critters. For some reason deer like to feed on the grass near roadside areas at dusk or dawn.
There's a wooded area near the local golf course they frequent . . . turkeys too!
Years ago I used to see a lot of fox there as well but in recent years not so much.
I know there's a lot of debate about the effectiveness of deer whistles but I do have them installed just in case they do work.
