Hi everyone, my name is John and I registered here as JLib66. I am from Latrobe Pa, just passed my Pa motorcycle permit test today and am signing the papers tonight to own my first scooter, a brand new 2019 Honda PCX 150.
I'm looking forward to riding my new PCX, learning as much about it as possible and hopefully making some new friends that are also PCX owners.

I'm not familiar with a permit test, can you elaborate on that? I took the MSF Course - a 3 day process in FL. Classroom and riding lessons on the course's grounds. A riding test and written test when all lessons done.
Will you be taking the MSF course in PA?

The permit test in Pa is a computerized knowledge test just as it is for getting a drivers license. It's 20 questions and you need to answer 16 correctly to pass. You are then issued a permit that is good for 1 year in which you either need to go through a MSF course that licenses upon completion or schedule and pass a skills test with the DMV. THe skills test is pretty easy from what I have been told as you need to serpentine through some cones and complete 3 figure 8's in a marked out area. I plan to go through the MSF course, however in my area they are full for this year, so I will probably just test with the DMV and take the course as soon as an opening exists.
I am very excited to become a scooter rider. I previously had an ATV but was limited with where I could ride. It no longer made sense to hold on to the ATV so I sold it and the wife and I decided to try out scootering.
