Maybe you remember this guy too . . ..
There's a whole documentary done about him. Sad end to his life. . .. Very turbulent, divisive, misguided times in human history.
Let the better angels prevail . . ..

What a bloody waste of humanity.

I don't wish I was Australian, just proud to be one.

First person I've met in a few decades who knows of P. Ochs!Old Grinner wrote:Maybe you remember this guy too . . ..

My parents took me on a nice trip to Bermuda earlier in the year.
I was proud to ride my Raleigh Robin Hood 3-Speed with the "Sturmey Archer" shifter.
All that went on that year we saw through the eyes of Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Morely Safer, and others on the evening TV news. Getting 3 channels was a big deal. But the programs could be enjoyed by all the family sitting around the TV together. The niche stuff seemed to seep in after cable TV and beyond. Target marketing I guess . . ..
The '68 muscle cars were competing for the minds of the young drivers with Mommy and Daddy's bucks or a good job at Micky D's. You could do a lot with $2.00 back then. Gas was still less than $.50 cents a gallon. You could spend a whole evening at an amusement park for $10 and feel like you spent a lot of money.
Bob Hope and Hugh O'Brien were making the entertainment tours in Vietnam with Raquel Welch and Joey Heatherton from what I understand.
And the list goes on . . ..
I joined the school rifle team and got my varsity letter. I thought it might be a good skill to have in case the war dragged on and I got drafted. Who knew . . .. Wow. . . those were happening times.
