Thought I would make something today
Recently I decided to take my bike around our neighborhood, and I wanted to listen to a little music while riding. There seem to be all sorts of ways to do this. Many riders have a Bluetooth speaker that they find a way to attach and carry along.
My wife purchased a cube for me a while back. This little cube plays music multiple ways. One of the ways is through Bluetooth. Another way is that you can load music onto a micro SD card and it will play the songs in order. It doesn't take very much of a memory card to hold a great amount of songs. I thought that I could just bring it along, using the SD card. The controls are on the bottom.
The problem was how to hold on to it. I have a RAM mount setup. I tried to use an X mount but the cube kept coming loose from the vibration.
Off to the LABORATORY ( basement)
i had a spare Ram ball, so I thought, 'HMMM...how can I attach it to the cube?'.
With a little thought, I came up with a base that I could tie wrap just about anything to, and it would be attached to the Ram mount system. Meet my new invention... the SQUARE mount. :-0 You can tie wrap any speaker you want to it, and adjust the direction it faces...or other stuff. :-/
The controls are the white buttons The rubber band is not necessary. Just a test for tension on the tie wrap.

I should have taken a picture with it on the bike.

I always like listening to music while riding. Some feel its distracting but it relaxes me and I still can hear traffic. Its a matter of being focused.
Nice job, but it will need to be loud under speed.enjoy! I just wonder if industrial Velcro would hold it ?

Good luck with that. . .quite inventive!
It will be nice on quiet back roads where you can listen to it more leisurely.
I've used small clocks like the one you have mounted over your handle bar bolts for years. They fit nicely using velcro on disc brake fluid master cylinders too.

Re: Thought I would make something today
I thought about velcro but didn't want to take the chance. Imagine riding along and suddenly something comes loose. That isn't something I want to worry about, especially while riding.
Yesterday, while riding in the car, I saw a small back pack on the road, and then a little further up the road I saw a shoe. It made me wonder if they had fallen off of a car/truck or did they fall off of a motorcycle and the rider didn't even notice.
Not a good feeling to get home and find that you lost your stuff somewhere along the way.

Yes that is of concern. They do make nowadays some pretty potent industrial Velcro that is very stout however I drill a tiny hole somewhere and attach some thin monofilament fishing line to the underside inconspicuously just in case it blows off it will still stay attached to the bike. Just another thought..

I just meant I used the heavy grade of velcro for the little plastic clock.

Well, it does have a radio as well, though I don't think I want to try to keep looking for the signal in heavy traffic.
As far as velcro for the clock, that is exactly what I did. It works well because it isn't stressing anything while sitting there, and if I lose it, it was only a couple of dollars. I had a more expensive clock on there but it ate batteries, probably because of the 100 degree temps that I was riding in.
