Hey all, sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I just noticed that Honda has the 2019 PCX150 on their HondaUSA site. ABS is finally available for just $300 extra! They also claim to have improved engine power and under seat storage among other tweaks. Looks like it's only available in "Bright Bronze Metallic" for 2019.
The Honda PCX150 has long been a favorite because it just gets so many things right. Big enough to carry you and a passenger with ease. Small enough to park just about anywhere, zip through traffic, and return some positively astounding fuel efficiency. And this year, we’ve totally revamped the PCX150, making it better in every way!
First, there’s improved engine output, using a design that reduces internal friction and with new intake and exhaust systems to boost power. And that engine is connected to our Honda V-Matic transmission, so there’s no need to shift, ever—just twist the throttle and go. The 2.1-gallon fuel tank is under the floorboards, for a low center of gravity. And an entirely new steel frame uses a duplex-cradle design rather than the more common “underbone” style for better handling. Plus, the PCX150 is loaded with features like a larger underseat compartment to haul groceries, spare clothing, or almost anything else you need to take along. And you can even get a version with our anti-lock braking system (ABS), a great pick for just about everyone.

In looking at the specs I noticed the following changes:
Tire size has been widened 10mm in front and 20mm in back but with slightly shorter sidewalls:
2019 front 100/80-14 (2018 front 90/90-14)
2019 rear 120/70-14 (2018 rear 100/90-14)
I plugged the old and new tire sizes into the Miata tire size calculator with the following results:
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
90/90-14 3.2in 10.2in 20.4in 64.0in 990 0.0%
100/80-14 3.1in 10.1in 20.3in 63.8in 994 -0.4%
Curb weight has decreased by 6 pounds:
2019: 289 pounds (Includes all standard equipment, required fluids and a full tank of fuel--ready to ride) (2018: 295 pounds)
Engine displacement has dropped by 4 cc and is now slightly undersquare:
2019: 149 cc (2018: 153 cc)
Bore and stroke
2019: 57.3mm x 57.9mm (2018: 58.0mm x 57.9mm)

Glad I got my 2017 and didn't wait for the 2018 to arrive speculating on whether or not they'd beef up the seat. Great machine.
About the 2019. . .I can see the visible subtle differences. Not so sure I like the color. It blends in to the background too much for me. Different engine specs eh?
I wonder what they did to save on weight.
On another note. . .nothing on the next Forza yet that I can see for the U.S. although rumor has it there may be a 2019 model. Time will tell. In the mean time Europe gets to enjoy theirs.

I'm most excited about the ABS feature - I don't want to start an ABS debate here but I'm getting a scooter for GG Jr. and I would feel better if he had ABS. I'm guessing the top speed will stay about the same or maybe even go down slightly. Despite the supposed power improvement and slight weight savings the rear tire's circumference is down by 2.2% and normally that would lower the top speed I think.
I actually like the color - the Bright Bronze Metallic reminds me of the Laguna Gold Metallic on the first Honda I ever owned, a 1989 Acura Integra. I found a pic of one like mine below.

I see the tires are wider at long last, not seen any info on the rim widths though and if they too have been changed, which I would think they have?
When applied to older PCX's the slight difference in circumference would likely be offset by slight pinching at the beads due to narrower rims if that's the case. I currently have a 120/70 front on the rear (tread reversed of course)

My PCX mod build here..
http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7113
I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that the ABS was for front brake only because the rear was still drum brakes.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150 Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs NCY variator, drive face, and rollers
It looks like Honda may have significantly bumped the top speed. In this vid the new PCX150 easily does 115 kph (71.5mph) and hits a max of 118 kph (73.3 mph). IIRC, my old 2015 PCX150 was good for a solid 62 mph and could peak at no more than 65 mph.

Wow, that's $1000 more than the "Scooter of the Year"
Kymco Like150i with 2 wheel ABS, 4 valve engine.
True...you'll never be troubled by the Honda's valves - because you still can't get to them.
Yeah, I wanna go 70 on a 150 scooter with a drum brake and that little wheelbase..

I think I read that as well. It would be nice to have ABS and disc brakes on both front and rear but from having watched a ton of motorcycle and scooter crash vids (fortunately I've never crashed myself) I can say that many more crashes seem to be caused by front wheel lockup/skidding than rear wheel lockup. As soon as the front wheel locks up and skids, especially while leaning in a curve, you're basically doomed to crash.

That new topend is interesting, especially since they lowered the engine size to 149cc's from 153cc's.

Yes - the ability to cruise at 70+ mph would be nice. I remember a motorcycle.com comparo/review lamenting the PCX150's top speed when compared to the Yamaha SMAX (see link to article below). I bet the PCX150 would have won that comparison if it could have done 70+ mph like the new one apparently can.

Well, with the NCY kit the older ones definitely can do 70+ mph.

I'm gonna guess the "entirely new" "duplex-cradle" frame is lighter than the old "underbone" design and this article by RideApart says it has lighter rims: https://rideapart.com/articles/new-2019 ... 0-revealed

I remember those Integras. I still have my original '95 Civic EX with the VTEC 1.6 liter engine and less than 100K miles on it. It's an antique now but runs great. Automatic with 4 doors and moon roof.
BTW I wanted to thank you for putting your PCX video review on YouTube a couple of years ago. I watched it a few times before I bought mine. Homie did some great videos also on maintenance and valve clearance checks.

Yeah the Integra was a great car, I think I put about 180K miles on it. It looked just like the one in the pic I posted, a 2dr LS with moonroof and had the DOHC aluminum 1.6 w/5spd, the best manual transmission I've ever used. Glad to hear the video was helpful - I never thought it would get so many views. If I get the 2019 for GG Jr. I'll be sure to do another vid before I give it to him - LOL

Honda needs to modernize their products , and stop selling a version without ABS.
For $1500 less you can get a Kymco LIKE150i, the "Scooter of the Year" with LEDs and two wheel ABS.
