Arthroscopic Surgery today

Post by easyrider »

Gonna miss riding for a few, but Doc says all went well. He repaired torn meniscus and removed some arthritic areas. So for anyone contemplating this procedure have at it.. Not a bad deal at all .. At least i think so..still on some good drugs.. LOL.

I've had it both knee and an elbow, the knee only needed ibuprofen to keep up with the discomfort after the first day. Can't recommend arthroscopic enough.

Hope you're up and around as quickly as I was!

One giant recommendation....take plenty of fibre to ward off constipation from pain meds.
Also, will you be having physical therapy?

Off the poop  and wishing you a speedy recovery ezr!

Knees!! Gosh, I'm surrounded by family and friends with numerous knee problems (frontside and back). Several have had full knee replacements.

Example: One friend had both his knees replaced six months apart. He is now doing fabulously. That same friend had bowed legs. During the 1st knee surgery and without saying a word to him, the surgeon de-bowed that leg - straightened it!! 6 months later he did the same to the other leg.

Imagine the excitement of SEEing your legs straightened for the first time? Amazing!! As well as knees that now function without pain?
Incredible.
Wait! There's more!....he gained 3/4 of an inch in height! As it was the 1st time he ever stood upright in his life.
What worthwhile knee operations these were. Now Several years have passed. He's walking painless, tall and proud. Doing things he never thought he could do again. Quality Living.

Over the past 2 years I've been helping my sister with her knee issues. Draining, Shots, scraping etc. She's been putting off knee replacement. I get it, I understand. But her knee doesn't. It's time. We'll see how soon

Sorry ezyr, but when it comes to knees it's all We hear. We're of the age, sigh :|
I'm recooperating myself. Cancer removed and just completed radiation. I did not choose chemo.
I'm sore, hurt now. But Can't Wait to Ride!! On a good day I Changed the oil, drained fuel & replaced with fresh-added 2ozs seafoam, checked and topped coolant.

I'm with you, yer not alone. Lets get this done!
Let's Ride!! ;)

Thanks for your well wishes and encouragement . New knees are in Vogue right now and rightfully so.. Not yet for me , but perhaps that day will come. Cancer is another malady most of us will encounter at some point, or seems so anyway . Sincerely hoping your pain subsides quickly and you are back out on the road in short order. Keep pressing on and all will be better I'm sure.. as you said you're not alone brother..Keep on keeping on.

Forget the k n e e s!
You got 2 of 'em.
You need to take care of old #1....or #2 so to speak.
My doc said nothing, gave me no warning, just a bottle of big pain pills
3 days later I was trying to make an emergency OBGYN appointment.
