Good advice. I saw that clip on the national news this morning. It's fortunate the guy escaped death with only damaged ribs and a leg injury.

Might is right as they say. . .but the question of morality always exists. Brutal force has no conscience.

Overwhelming support for the car driver in comments. Unclear what set off the biker but we can imagine Must not be clear in video the license plate because news said driver still at large. I think all that blackout goes a long way toward intimidating cagers in confrontation. Just looks menacing and threatening, I don't like it much. If he'd popped my mirror for no good reason I might have put him in the ditch too

btw he will have trouble claiming much injury, look at him running around like the idiot he is.

According to the rider (as mentioned on a news post) the Mazda driver "brake-checked" him. . .almost causing the motorcyclist to ram into the back of the car. That would cause dismay. The thing is if you travel too close to someone else you are only asking for trouble. . .whether they brake-check you in anger or they brake for animals and jay walkers. I don't know if the biker was tailgating the Mazda but the gesture from the rider was for the driver to pull over. I guess he wanted to have some kind of discussion. . ..

The motorcyclist was clearly the perpetrator,but in a court of law the motorist is likely to take it on the chin.You are certainly allowed to defend yourself ,but not allowed to attempt murder as did the driver of the car.

Unfortunately there are too many people in too much of a hurry, and for some unknown reason drivers forget how to be kind, considerate and forgiving of others once they are behind the wheel or on their bikes. There are valid reasons for being upset with others, but that does not give you the right to do to them what you would not do if you were not behind the wheel.

Imagine if police officers did as they wanted, without regard for consequences, because someone was inconsiderate or aggressive against their vehicle. They have to learn to be patient and to stay in control of their emotions. We should follow their examples.

I saw a prime example today when the police had their lights on and siren going as they approached an intersection. When the lead police car was 10 feet from the intersection an old lady who was driving with her windows open looked straight at the officer and pulled right in from of them and stopped. The police car had to brake suddenly and swerve to miss her car. Imagine what an average driver would probably have done. Instead, the police car blew his horn at her and changed the siren pitch. She just picked up her phone and started a conversation with someone while the police car had to weave his way around her.

The rest of us might have gotten out of our cars and yelled at the lady, or maybe even pounded on her car.

However, later on I saw this same old lady buying some products at Home Depot, and I realized that she was one of those really old 'retirement home' drivers who only go out in their cars on certain Wednesdays of the month because that is when their Social Security checks come in.
Many of them no longer have a drivers license, but that doesn't stop them. They actually have no clue that there are other drivers around them. Get angry at them if you must, but they haven't a clue as to why you are yelling at them. I truly think that she intended on stopping for the police car, but her reactions are so slow that she ended up stopping right in front of his car instead of before reaching that point.

So, before you let your temper get the better of you, consider why that other driver did whatever to upset you. Maybe it was not intentional.

It's the "Too many fish in the tank" syndrome.

People getting in each other's faces and congestion causes stress and anxiety and the urge to bolt.
