Yup. . .the SG 38 was a pre-war German built glider design. I don't think there were any insurance companies involved or governmental safety agencies. :geek:

This is a different and slightly longer video someone did on an SG 38 and the camera position from the pilot's perspective is truly amazing. It can give you the sensation of being "way up there" just sitting in front of your PC. Looking down and seeing very little fuselage under you almost spurs a panic attack. Not a good time to get caught in a wind sheer. :o o_O  8)

For some reason your link didn't work but I was able to paste the URL and see the video. Maybe it's my version of Windows. . ..

That being said I'm glad he was able to more than accomplish his goal and not drop the phone from 15,000 ft.

I don't think that I would want to tempt fate on an Ultra Light Aircraft. Someone who lived down the road from me died in a crash on one some years ago. You are really at the mercy of Mother Nature when you go up in those things. I admire those who do fly them but figure before I'd ever try that I'd have to attempt a "Bungee Jump" first. Even then my biggest fear would be that I'd be the "one" who broke the bungee.
