Re: What's your other hobby...
My camera is now gathering dust. Sold almost all my lighting gears except one small flash. Lost my enthusiasm when everyone's suddenly became a photographer with their instagram accounts, LOL.
I'm trying to involve myself into sports more now, I feel my body not getting any younger, and sports is the only way to keep up and be in shape.
I started a few months ago learning BJJ. Yeah, wrestling with sweaty men and women is slowly becoming a trend here.

I went in the other direction -- started with wrestling in the early to mid 70's - and then progressed to photography (with slot cars in between).alx123 wrote:My camera is now gathering dust. Wow. . .that is really lame. Praise the creator you are OK. That definitely could have resulted in a bad scene. My winter hobby almost got me killed Saturday and I thought it was the safer hobby That's all, just venting
You've got a good solid reason to get your money back and also by letting them know about the problem it could save the life of the next person in line at the range. They should have an immediate recall and take those things off the shelves and melt down every one of them.
Here's a short video on the basic principles of injection molding. Quality control during manufacturing and testing is critical. Ambient air temperature, humidity, source material integrity, mold maintenance, inspection sampling, are all important.

Wow.... If it could happen once it will happen again. I never trusted polymers in xxxx xxxx, but they are lightweight and usually have a good track record. Just cannot replace steel for heat transfer and duress. I suspect the xxxxxx explosion was just a bit too much for that top strap. That should create some shock waves with corporate .homie wrote:My winter hobby almost got me killed Saturday and I thought it was the safer hobby That's all, just venting

About the Artiphon. . .very interesting instrument. Redefines "One Man Band". Kind of like those Casio and Yamaha keyboards that were popular. . .only in a more concise package and blends string and percussion with all the advantages of electronic digital media interface (MIDI).HEY! maybe get a whole new HOBBY!!!! check this out
No need to make it in stainless steel either. Unless of course a key component here and there depend on it.

Re: What's your other hobby...
Dunno if studying counts as a hobby, but it's close to that.
I started of as a radio technician, and served my time in the army like so (at that time it was obligatory here in Eastern Europe). Then studied and got a degree in Electrical Engineering, with a telecommunications major. A bit later I went to school again and got my Motorcycle technician degree and trade licence - only to be able to officially service race bikes when I was racing.
Almost 20 years to the day after I graduated as an EE I got a BA in Business Management and Finance, and last year my MBA diploma. And if my wifey would not kill me, I'd actually go for a PHD in either Applied Mathematics (data modeling with machine learning) or Environmental sciences.

Wow you guys have some serious talents !!
Looking at the thread's posts from last Fall .... Limey, is that a Tiger 60? ........ and Maverick - wow those are beautiful photos. There are several members who post unreal photos to the forum, there's no way I could capture the 'personality' (or whatever it's called) of the moments the way you all can.
I fly fish a lot, and collect vintage Shakespeare Wonderod fly rods from the late '40s to early '70s - I like the shorter ones 7'9" and under.
