I see why my link got messed up. My bad
Oh, and I saw that performance when the one the only Grace Slick sang White Rabbit on their show. I was so anxious that day for it to air. Thanx for the fixie and flashback!
I take a lot of rides, but none of them Take me there!
2yous is ready to go back, anyone else? Those definitely Were The Days My Friends

Makes you feel really old when you think of how long ago it was that you heard and saw these things...geez. I was still in the military on my first go around when White Rabbit came out. I wasn't even 21 yet. Heck, I spent 4 years in the military and still got out before I was 21. That was 50 years ago!
When I was growing up we had the soundtrack of South Pacific. Paint Your Wagon came out on Broadway long before it became a film, which didn't happen until 1969. It is well worth seeing the movie. It is a singing comedy. If you want another one like it see Cat Ballou. (1965) The drunk horse stole that show. :-)

Re: Songs in the Key of Life
Dave Clark Five. Another one of those great '60s groups, part of the "British Invasion" as the newspapers called them. 1964
Two Mules for Sister Sara..... Another one of those great Clint Eastwood cowboy movies.
Next will be High Plains Drifter.
I enjoyed them all in the theater.
I even saw the premier of the original True Grit in Dallas, Texas in 1969. That was a long, long time ago. Much has changed since then...hopefully for the better.

Re: Songs in the Key of Life
Here's a song that's hardly known. I like it, maybe you will too.
I came upon this one online then decided to add it to a video a friend had taken of myself riding with another friend on our individual Honda Shadows. The video disappeared. I had placed it on Yahoo and it got lost in their updates. A Yahoo Ugly Moment Then my desk computer crashed. I lost my copy.
Oh the pain...
I remember it was a beautiful picture perfect sun filled blue sky just right warm not a breeze late afternoon kinda Florida day. We were just cutting through space. No traffic lights, no stop signs, few cars if any. I heard nothing but constant purring. We and Our Shadow(s)
The song:
"Guess What Happened" by Everett Young (2003)

Yes, but do you remember what movie used it as a theme tune?

That's the one, the mall car chase featuring John Landis' cameo as the driver.

Peter Gunn? Or something.
One of the best movies ever. Can’t be repeated. Don’t ever watch the attempt, there’s not enough eye bleach in the world...
Re: Songs in the Key of Life
Car chase starts with Sam & Dave's Hold on I'm comin, then changes to the speeded up instrumental version of Otis Redding's I Can't Turn You Loose, then as it ends Henry Mancini's Peter Gunn theme starts playing.
The Tubes did a version of Peter Gunn, its on the "What Do You Want From Live " album, recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon.
That was an amazing stage show, there were still pictures of it in the album cover/sleeves and it was shown on TV shortly after.
Sadly the video footage of the event is currently unavailable due to copyright disputes.

The Tubes were great. I saw a stage show on TV back in the day. Probably the Old Grey Whistle Test. I’m sure the lead singer was in his underpants with a giant pair of spectacles...
Re: Songs in the Key of Life
That was Fee Waybill performing the character Quay Lewd.
