What do I need in order to make my bike "keyless"

I've seen that some PCX's came with a "twist and go" ignition and I REALLY like that idea. A proximity sensor sounds like great fun, and since it also seems to come with an alarm module so much the better. But I havent found much by way of information about it, nor what parts I need or a how-to.

Has anyone converted? Pros/cons? Help?

We're probably talking about different things, but some models like mine come with an idle cut-off when the system is armed and the bike stops moving for about 5 seconds the engine shuts off to save fuel - from there it's "twist and go" to start the motor up again.

Still needs a key though.

eh, i wear my key on a biner on my pants, and thats where the transponder would be if i did this so theres no real forgetting it.

Smartkey is very convenient. The alarm is very useful. I never lost my smartkey even once, I wear it with a strap on my neck. Ignition switch will automatically lock itself once youre far from the scoot.

To topic it'll probably be ideal to sell the old scoot and buy the keyless models.

I don't think we, in the US, have the keyless option on new PCX models.

if there were the option for the keyless in the US i would have snagged it. I only found out about it after getting the bike and looking up upgrades for it. it seems fairly easy to replace it all, under 200 but for some reason there (in my mind) seems to be something missing from the parts list I made that I cant figure out.

How about this set up.. Might have to disable brake and kick stand switches. You might be able to integrate this system into your ignition system if you are creative.You can start your bike from your phone from a distance and have it warming up before you get there.

I suspect you are right. I've only seen the swap done on car forums and it's a pain and unreliable.

There's always a negative story somewhere. A lot of new cars have had them for a while. In reality there aren't any issues.

It is just that bit more convenient.

In reality their can be issues, but the positives generally out-weight the negatives for most people.

PFFFT. my harley sportster, after MUCH hacking and removing, had a key to bring life and a METAL PLUNGER ON THE STARTER to turn it over. Oh, and it was behind the uncoated exhaust (I was a smart one...)

my old CB chopper didnt even have a key when I got done with it. It was kick only so I put a toggle switch on it to kill power but I figured if you could figure out the "kick combination" then by all means have at it. Most likely if someone tried to steal it they would have ended up with a broken shin.
