Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

The Variator http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r154/BRed1/IMG_20140901_165242323_HDR.jpg The Forza 300's variator is different from the early 250 variators, but it still uses the same clutch as earlier 250s and the Helix. The main reason for this is the larger output shaft. The Forza variator has ...

Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

No other component on a "scooter" determines it's personality and overall driveability more than the CVT. For those who are completely satisfied by the Forza's stock performance, read no further....there's nothing of interest to follow, but if you would like a faster 0-70 time and a quicke...

Re: Spanner Wrench for rear shocks

Excellent work. Thanks for taking the effort to do this for US owners.... the amazing thing was finding a Honda rep who actually listened to you as a concerned scooter owner. We tend to get brushed off and overlooked in such matters, since we're not "serious" bikers on $20,000 machines. :D...

Re: Forza seat

I don't know if this will help, but when I stripped my Forza, I started to remove the seat, but never having seen the seat "damper?" (it hardly qualifies as an "opener!") ...I didn't know the ball head just popped off the stud. By then I had already loosened the 2 large seat bolt...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Since your Forza is a US model, the assembly date should be in the upper right corner of your VIN sticker..... an example: http://img.autorevo.com/2014-honda-forza-scooter-harker-heights-tx-5220273/825213-51-large.jpg in this case, this Forza was assembled on 8/13, but is still marketed as a 2014 mo...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

for the non-ABS version we have a VIN range of 1621 through 1789 (so far!).....
so maybe 200 non-ABS with potentially bad fuel pumps??!

we still don't know the "birth" or assembly date from the VIN for Fogalera's scoot...

10/13, by chance?

Re: Forza starting and seat.

Any time your Forza fails to start, grip the left brake lever MUCH tighter than you just did and try it again....
Hondas with the start inhibitor switch take a very firm grip in order to make this switch.

In fact, grip it much harder than you would typically for stopping the scoot.

Re: Exhaust

Check the local Honda parts online and compare the relevant part numbers used for each year...
that's usually one way to check parts cross compatibility.

FWIW, webbike.japan shows some aftermarket parts that fit both '13-'14.

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Robisc, thanks for bringing this issue to our attention..... we wouldn't have known about it if not for your hard work in collecting the info and then finding websites like this one to let us know. Thank you. as a side note, I think Florida took the worst hit in the US as far as receiving scoots wit...

Re: Safe off the Forza front wheel ?

It's the center stand location..... the Forza's center stand is located farther to the rear of the frame than any scooter I've seen. It's mounted 5-6 inches farther back to the rear than the BR or Reflex. That makes it very easy to get onto the centerstand but front heavy while on the stand. There i...

Re: Forza height

It won't change the static height of the bike, but it will reduce how far the shock springs allow the bike to "sag" with your added weight.... it will also make it stiffer (more rebound) on bumps unless you have the weight to level it all out. (which is why I reduced the preload on mine......

Re: Safe off the Forza front wheel ?

with few exceptions, the Forza's bellypan is pretty flimsy...no good support points. In the front of the center stand, hangin under the pan, there are two triangular pieces of steel welded to the frame along each side. you can see them under the bike in this photo: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: Fitting Oxford heated grips.

It is. The 4 point plug you mention is the OnBoard Diagnostics port.
For grip heaters, since they are high amp draw, they will probably need a direct connection to the battery.

On the non-ABS Forzas, there is an empty fuse socket that would normally feed the 3rd (or ABS specific) fusebox.

Re: Forza height

If you mean from shock absorber sag, you could try turning up the rear spring pre-load? stock is the middle of the 5 preload settings and after adjusting mine two clicks lower to soften the ride (the bottom position, so less compression) I immediately noticed that the bike seat was lower (with me on...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Based on what has been said, if you order the complete assembly with the cover, it's $68 and that appears to be the only way to get the cover.... as a complete assembly. If you order the pump shaft, rubber and mechanical seals, washer and impeller, the cost is over $90 and you don't get a crankcase ...

Re: Touring Mods

The Forza's hydraulic reservoir covers are 1 & 3/8" W X 2 & 1/8" L....the screw holes are 1 & 5/8" on centers. by the way, I checked the Big Ruckus' covers at the same time and they are identical..... same type of reservoir as well. It's likely the PCX uses the same type a...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Thanks! That's pretty interesting..... at 1789, that means there were twice as many non-ABS Forzas imported than BRs in their first year. That doesn't count the ABS models so the total number of US Forzas could reach 4000-5000? Your was the best possible way to experience a fuel pump failure! congra...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

i bought my new Forza (NSS300) on Sept. 23rd. Couldn't drive it home that day because the dealer couldn't get it started. i was told it turned out to be the fuel pump so i couldn't pick the bike up until the 25th, after they installed a new one. The bike had been sitting at the dealers since the 20...

Re: Touring Mods

It's not often you see a Honda with Harley Davidson parts? :) The "saddle" is off an HD V-Rod. I modified the pan to make it more flexible and made a simple bracket to mount it on the Big Ruckus so I could adjust the angle fore to rear. I hate the typical scooter seating position and that ...

Touring Mods

I recently added a couple of things for the highway.... first a RAM mount for GPS or VEYPOR mounting. I used a RAM mount that used a U-bolt (1" and 7/8" included)....it is much narrower than the band clamp type but would not fit between the bar clamps. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r1...
