Re: 5000 Mile Service

I wonder if one of those 'grip lock' type things will achieve the same thing on non parking brake bikes - I'm getting one as part of my bike security, along with disc brake and chain!

Be great if the new 2014 125 PCX has the guide holes ready made for a top-box.

Re: PCX 150 2013 stability and acceleration

2nd half of this video shows it had good acceleration and is a great scooter for a 110 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWpp7wagGao PCX 125 has better acceleration and top end so 150 should easily outclass it at the expense of mpg. I'd imagine most scooters 110 and over pull away really fast. That...

Re: 5000 Mile Service

Great looking and very clean bike! I forgot about the wax stuff, when I get my new one it may be wise to give it a wax before the stones and such start doing their worse.

Re: The Elusive PCX...

Id say go used for a 2013 PCX. I went new, I bought into the O down 2% interest. I see used 300 mile pcx's for 2800 maybe asking up to 3200 Only a few months old. If it hasn't been dropped looks clean has warranty left and you save well over a $1000 and you can get one, whats not to like? $3450 plu...

Re: The Elusive PCX...

I booked a test ride at a Honda dealer twice, but for many reasons inc. the tube strikes and work had to cancel both days before I could attend. I'd say a test ride is a good thing against just sitting on one - just sat on a Vision and PCX and found the PCX a bit wierd with the hump and the smaller ...

Re: Finally seen a PCX on the road!

It seems where Honda scooters are concerned, many people prefer the flat-bed type scooters rather than the PCX style. Still see quite a lot of Visions, not sure 50 or 110 but almost daily now. Not surprising seeing for town use it's perfectly adequate as traffic rarely goes above 30-40.

Re: Bike stalling

I'm in the US in Missouri. To address the battery point, at least for my scoot, it turns over normally. It started with not wanting to start one day, then went to starting to die out when I got over 45, then just felt like it cut fuel AT 47-48mph. Everything else is normal. I seem to recall someone...

Re: valve adjustment

Maybe I should just watch the YouTube video and check them myself? I'm just afraid of messing it up, which is about what happens about half the time when I try to play mechanic. Sometimes I make things better, sometimes I make them worse. I checked/adjusted mine just for fun, at 500 miles both valv...

Re: valve adjustment

Quite a few people say the valve's were out on the 1st service (that's if many dealers actually check by removing covers and doing it properly - there were posts that Honda advised dealers 'only if necessary') - but I wonder if they go out due to bedding in or if they are just not setup properly dur...

Re: Windscreen - Ermax vs. Givi?

In the UK we have had much more rain than usual and lots of flooding, but it's been a rather mild winter with no snow over most of the country, not too bad temps and in London no salt/grit laid down on the road - not that I've seen. We've had far worse winters than this.

Re: 2014 New Model PCX

Soon to get one of the new ones (UK) - hope there are no issues with a new design, but as it's much like the old PCX any niggles should have been ironed out by now.

Re: Bike stalling

One of the reasons the new 2014 PCX has an unrated battery. I doubt I will be using this feature in the main - at least in normal traffic.

Re: PCX 150 2013 stability and acceleration

Hey dude I'm ahead of lights in the capital city even with Honda Vision 110 ;) One of the many reasons I considered that model for a long time - great acceleration up until about 30, can reach about 50mph, fairly efficient in economy terms, easy to maintain, and narrower than the PCX/SH. However, r...

Maybe a little trip to Slovakia and ride back on a new 150 would still see you better off ?
Doubt there would be any warranty and cannot ride a 150 on a CBT licence in the UK :( (some years back, up to about 250cc was allowed).

Re: 2014 New Model PCX

Honda Chiswick just advised the infamous April date but only limited supplies at first - which despite wanting to sell one if probably going to be true. However, unlike what some dealers advised me earlier, in that Honda had advised the 2014 prices already and the price would be the same, the rep sa...
