Different regional color codes, but same color?

Hello guys,
i was searching some body spare parts for my pcx and noticed, that red color is not the same in different countries.
In germany my red pcx has the color code 320P "pearl siena red". I the US i only find 340C "candy rosy red" or 350C "candy noble red".

Can anybody tell me, if there´s a difference in these color codes? To me they look mostly the same!?

They are not the same, from what I can see. I have a PCX that is 340c. Riders with a red Forza have a red that is completely different.

Look at this color code chart. You have to look in the left column for "R" before the color code. Honda has a LOT of color combinations.

If I replaced the two scratched belly panels on my UK PCX 125 (320 P - Pearl Siena Red) with imported panels (only available in 340C - Candy Red), would the difference be noticeable? Without looking directly at parts in both colours, side by side, I have no way of knowing apart from what people say. Some say i wouldn’t notice, especially if they are belly panels, yet some say I would notice. Quite a conundrum. Or maybe I should mix panel colours, but with what?

They are different colours used in different locations and on different model years.
If you can find a red 2017 CB500X (candy rosy red) to compare with, you'll see the difference.
If the panels aren't badly scratched you can get a touch up kit to sort them.
Or put some stickers on.

The side panel is quite minor so a touch up kit might work there. They are the three stage nail varnish type pots, right? Will they fill the little pit holes of the scratch, or just make them harder to spot? Maybe there is a sticker kit that would hide them?

The colours are definitely different depending on the source country, the only logical, although cynical, reason I can come up with, is that the steep European prices are protected.
I had a lower footboard panel with minor scratches that I wanted to replace, the Thailand price was well under half of the European, but the paint code was different, and the colour was different enough to be noticeable.
In the end I put the paint code into a search engine and bought a two bottle touch up kit from eBay,I think it came from Europe and was a good match. The seller was called dropedo shop, but it wasn’t cheap, over £20 including postage for two tiny bottles .

My son did a couple of mock ups so I could see what it would look like with black belly panels, which avoids a colour match issue. With shipping (think it might be on the back of a donkey!) I can get left and right for just over £70, with VAT and duty on top.
I will likely have a go at touch up with the side panel, though.
Compare this to average quotes of £350+VAT to get the three panels resprayed!
Maybe just add a white Honda logo on each belly panel near the front..?

I think you may have hit on a great idea. Get black bottom panels. Most people won't even notice that they aren't the originals.

As for replacing your panels, it might be a good idea to compare prices for complete color changes from Thailand. It might end up being cheaper than replacing one or two panels that are locked into the European pricing.

Funny you should mention changing all the panels. Being unable to match my Pearl Siena Red led me to consider importing a whole new colour, like a Pearl White. Various vendors based in Asia, thereby having the option to source new panels in the future should I have further damage - heaven forbid. A whole new set after all import duties and taxes worked out the same or less than the price quoted to respray three panels at local UK garages.

£278.99 + 3.7%(duty) = 289.31
£289.31 + 20%(VAT) = 347.18
£347.18 + 10(ParcelForce handling fee) = 358.18
£358.18 - 278.99 = £78.19 total import costs

What deterred me was the prospect of removing all the original panels and attaching the new. Replacing the belly panels in pearl black, from the same Asia sources, and adding a couple of white stickers, comes to just under £100 all in, by my calculations. And the swap over should be quick and easy.

If you're going for the black belly panels, leave them plain, don't add any stickers, they'll only draw attention to the panels being the wrong colour.

Fair point. I understand your logic.
I look at it from the opposite viewpoint, making it look like the black panels are a deliberate choice rather than attempting to conceal a different colour panel. I think a couple of stickers should look nice and will break up an otherwise bland black panel. Like in the picture, but in reverse - white sticker on black panel.
I am also thinking about some thin black and white stickers if I can find some to emphasise the red-black-white theme, something to just follow the line of the side panel after I touch up the scratches...or stickers that will conceal them altogether.

There is a thread on this forum showing Maddiedog removing all of the panels on his bike. He taught me how to do it, and I use his "How-to" if I forget. After doing it multiple times I am not afraid to take my 2013 models apart. Mind you, the front panels are not the easiest ones to take off, but if you use plastic auto trim removal tools all of the panels come off a lot easier. Read through the thread. It might give you confidence to try.

Just received some new black belly panels for my PCX and will be fitting them next week when I get back from holiday. Out of interest, the seller was king enough to send me a part in Candy Red to compare against my Pearl Sienna Red... I just wanted to see how they compared. Not much difference really and maybe Candy Red belly panels wouldn’t be so noticeable. What do you think? Happy with my black ones, though.

Thanks for your comments. Never having replaced belly panels before, it took a bit of manoeuvring to fit the first panel, only to discover that there were no metal clips for the screws to bind into, so off it had to come while I swapped over the clips from the old panel. Annoying but lesson learned!

The Candy Red looks to be slightly - very slightly - more pinky red than the Siena Pearl Red. The name ‘Candy’ seems quite an apt name for it.
