You're just encouraging 2yous' shenanigans by arguing back. Not everyone can be reasoned or rationed with.

2yous --

Don't forget that sarcasm isn't helpful, especially on the internet. TheMaverick is trying to be helpful, even if he's redundant.

Both of you --

Play nice please, this got unnecessarily way off topic.

In my opinion Honda specifies that a lot of unnecessary work be done on the bike; on one hand if people get it done that way they'll probably never have any issues but (again, in my opinion) if people look at these things intelligently -
How is a person like me supposed to do that ??
Honestly, you're not. The main important thing is to change the oil. Adjusting valves is good and keeps it running tip-top. So does changing spark plugs or anything else in the manual.

The main maintenance failure most users will see is a battery failure from inconsistent use. The fuel injection system on the PCX is awesome, it starts with some nasty gas. The valves out of whack badly enough will cause starting problems. A belt failure can be dangerous, but we've really not seen many at all. Spark plugs don't get fouled due to the fuel injection being top-notch (reference this thread).

Really my point here is, with how little mileage most people put on their PCXes, you're probably fine doing minimal maintenance. After owning two and having them for the better part of a decade now, I've matured into a strategy of just change my oil every year or 5k miles, make sure the air is in the tires, and don't worry about the rest. Go ride an have fun, don't stress about the details so much. It's a Honda scooter, not a precision race bike. You'll get years and 10s of thousands of miles with minimal maintenance. ;)

Will try harder.
